Hello, Crafters.
When we went to Sainsbury’s Supermarket yesterday to pick up our Click and Collect online order, I took my copy of the new catalogue with me hoping there would be a queue so I could have a really good look at all the new goodies! No such luck! The Click and Collect service at Sainsbury’s is super efficient and I only managed to look at the first thirty pages or so, and then we were on our way home again!
Do you have a favourite Stampin’ Up! colour or does it change from day to day? I have several colours that I really like and love them even more when I work with them! One of my absolute favourites is Purple Posy! I also like Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape and love the way the three colours work together. To colour the flowers on today’s card I used Purple Posy Stampin’ Blends and stamped the sentiment using Highland Heather Ink. Would you have guessed?
I chose to use the Last a Lifetime Stamp Set (C/F) and the plan was to stamp, colour and die-cut two of the main floral image. Then to stamp my new favourite sentiment which is BIRTHDAYS ARE THE BEST DAYS from the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set (C/F). Note: if I put C/F after a product it indicates that it’s being carried forward to the new annual catalogue. My layout was going to be the die-cut sentiment and one of the sentiments at each end of the sentiment like handles!
Everything went well until I laid the pieces on my Purple Posy Cardstock (CS) layer and I felt my design was too regimental. I decided to emboss the top layer using the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder (ret Mini page 39). This softened the design a fair bit but not enough so I repositioned the images to the bottom left-hand corner and the top right-hand corner. This looked so much nicer but the card was still looking quite sparse!
I had another look at the stamp set to see what other images there are, and I decided to stick with the floral theme. Using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and a scrap of Whisper White CS, I stamped five images of the small flower with leaves. I coloured them using the same Stampin’ Blends I’d used for the main images, i.e. Light and Dark Purple Posy, Light Old Olive and Dark Daffodil Delight. Next, I die-cut them using the die from the co-ordinating dies called Lasting Elegance Dies.
After I stamped the sentiment, I die-cut it using the Stitched Shapes Dies, oval no. 3 die. Over time I had accumulated buy clonazepam 2mg online five Whisper White CS oval die-cuts the same size but from the Layering Oval Dies. I adhered all six ovals together to make the sentiment sturdy. Whenever practical, I prefer to make single-layer images and sentiments “popped up” with extra layers rather than Dimensionals.
After I had adhered the sentiment and the two main images to the card front, I started arranging and re-arranging the five small flowers but whichever way I placed them, something was missing. I decided to try a bow and chose to use the 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon (C/F). As this ribbon is so fine, bows don’t always show up properly, so I took a long length, folded it in half and then made my bow. It worked brilliantly!
My final touch on the front of the card was adding Rhinestones to the small flowers and two on the sentiment. Inside the card, I added a middle layer of Whisper White CS and a top layer of Purple Posy CS. When I made the two main images for the front of the card I made a third one for inside the card, and adhered it in the bottom right-hand corner!
Finally, something to make you smile! In the early days of the lockdown, someone said women won’t be buying clothes during the lockdown! Yesterday I shared this photograph on Facebook with the caption “Whoever said women won’t buy clothes during lockdown was either a man or doesn’t know me! There’s still more to come!!???”
That’s it from me today! I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting!

Many thanks, Janie. I’m glad my delivery made you smile! 😍 xx
Jan, I always learn something from your every card. Today I learnt about layering the ovals to make a more sturdy greeting. You said five (I think). You glued them together with snail I presume. I am thinking that by this layering it would also give dimension to not only the card but the greeting as well. Love learning from you, Jan. XX M M DJ
Hi, Mal. I used Tombow to glue the layers together. Yes it does give great dimensional without any risk of it sagging anywhere when posted! XX
Thanks Jan. Will try tomorrow morning my time. Xxxx mal
LOL…The card is just beautiful Jan. Of course, it’s also my favorite color. TY for putting a smile on my face this morning. Be safe & TYFS
Many thanks, Claire. xx
