Hello, Crafters.
I don’t normally buy product medleys but the Boho Indigo really appealed to me and when I saw the price, I was totally sold on it! Whe I opened the box I was amazed at how much was included! As well as the stamp set, the dies and the Designer Series Paper (DSP), there’s also some dry-embossed Very Vanilla 6″ x 6″ sheets, six sheets of flower, leaves and label die-cuts, two rolls of some amazing ribbon and some dainty paper flowers in two sizes!
The colour combo for this medley is Misty Moonlight, Night of Navy, Garden Green, gold and white. I think the colour of Misty Moonlight is best described as denim and goes very well with our Denim ribbon. Unfortunately, I found it was too wide for me to use on today’s card so I decided to use our Very Vanilla Lace Ribbon instead.
I set my Stamparatus up with two plates, one with the vase on the left-hand side and the right-hand side plate with the branches. After stamping the vase using Misty Moonlight Ink, I stamped the branches using Garden Green Ink. Next, I used my Light Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blend and painted three of the small paper flowers.
To die-cut the image I used the no. 4 die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies and I also cut a larger rectangle of Misty Moonlight Cardstock (CS) using die no. 5. I decided to layer the image like this because I wanted to use a particular design from the Boho Indigo DSP because the flower is the same design as the flower on the vase I was using!
I adhered a top layer of DSP onto a middle layer of Whisper White CS and then adhered them both onto my card base of Misty Moonlight CS. Then I popped the image up using Dimensionals and adhered the small flowers on the Garden Green branches also using Dimensionals. After tying a bow with the Very Vanilla Lace, I adhered it on the neck of the vase using Tombow. I also adhered the right-hand side lace tail in place as it was being very wayward wanting to go its own way, which was pointing east rather than a southerly direction!
I stamped the HAPPY BIRTHDAY sentiment which is from the Special Someone Stamp Set using Misty Moonlight Ink on Whisper White CS. It fitted in the die from the All Dressed Up Dies beautifully and left space for me to add a Night of Navy Rhinestone from the Holiday Rhinestones – which has been carried over from the last Christmas catalogue – at either end!
My final touch for the front of my card was to paint the centres of all the flowers on the DSP using my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen. I’m pleased to say for once, it’s very easy to see the Wink of Stella in some of the photographs! To decorate the inside of my card I added a middle layer of Whisper White CS and stamped the three flowers in the bottom right-hand corner using Misty Moonlight Ink. At one time I was really fussy about using Very Vanilla CS if there was Very Vanilla in the DSP I’m using. As you can see I’m far more relaxed about it now.
If you have scooted past the Boho Indigo Product Medley on page 9 of the new catalogue you may want to go back and have another look! In particular, have a good look at the navy ribbon at the top of the page on the gold box. It looks as if it has been frayed all the way along both long sides but frayed in a nice tidy way that won’t come undone. It’s gorgeous!
That’s it from me today! I look forward to being back with you tomorrow and in the meantime, take care and stay safe! Happy crafting.
JanB. xx
