Masking & Dry Embossing Video

Birthday Cards· Masculine Cards· Videos

21 Jun

Hello, Crafters.

It appears that the little critter in my card I shared yesterday is most likely a beaver! Everyone who put forward a suggestion to my question “what animal is this” said it was probably a hedgehog. While I agreed that’s what it looks like I couldn’t understand why we could see the feet, legs and why the fur appears to be going down the back, not standing up all over like spines.

Hubby turned online detective yesterday and found a beaver that fitted the stamp image. This explained the legs and feet and the furry coat. Occasionally we get hedgehogs in our garden which is why I felt it wasn’t right that we could see the feet and legs. Thank you to everyone who responded to my question!

When I shared my Forever Fern Birthday Card here three days ago, I also shared it on my Facebook Page, and in both places it received a lot of positive reaction. Being very aware that new crafters are joining the wonderful world of cardmaking every day, I decided I’d make a video to show how to do masking and then the dry embossing, even though they are techniques I’ve already covered in previous videos.

The Gorgeous Grape card is the second card I made – the one just before a video as my reminder – and I remembered to decorate the inside. I also buy ativan online australia decorated the inside of the card I made in the video, and I had made the comment that although I can go back to decorate the inside of my first card, I said it was a bit of a fiddle.

Today’s video is relatively short and as I finished decorating the inside of the video card, I said I might as well show you how I do decorate inside a card after I’d finished putting it together. After I had cleaned my “plums” stamp, I reached for my Rich Razzleberry Ink and opened my card. I put my Post It Note in position and as I went to stamp my image I noticed I managed to get some ink on the white layer!

This meant I had to stamp my plums on the left-hand side instead of my preferred right-hand side! Then I decided to stamp a smaller image on the right! The sentiment BIRTHDAYS ARE THE BEST DAYS is from the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set. This has really become my go-to sentiment for birthday cards recently!

That’s it from me today. I wish you a very blessed Sunday. Take care, stay safe and stay well. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow and in the meantime, happy crafting.

JanB. xx

Jan, I have learnt so much from today’s video. Thank you for sharing so willingly your talents. With regards to the “halo”, do you think you could colour in the halo with blends (not that I have any)? XX M

Many thanks, Mal. Yes, you could but you’d need to concentrate on getting the same shade of the colour already used! xx

My dog has a stuffed hedgehog animal and in looking at the head and especially the nose and body shape I was convinced it was a hedgehog also. A beaver would have more of a tail showing.

Yes, I thought they’d show a tail if it was a beaver, too! xx

Wow wat is dit een mooie kaart Jan, maar wat is dat moeilijk zeg maskeren. Vind het knap hoe je dat doet. Heb al vele kaarten weggegooid.

    Groetjes Manon
