Hello, Crafters.
Today’s card doesn’t look finished. I had stamped a 1¾” x 5¾” strip of Whisper White Cardstock (CS) with the fern branch stamped randomly all over and then layered on to a piece of Pretty Peacock CS. My plan was to adhere it about ¾” in from the left-hand side. But then I stamped and fussy-cut three branches and I liked them paired up with the sentiment which is from Peaceful Moments Stamp Set.
I think this is the first time I haven’t been able to convert a card into plan B successfully. At one stage I did adhere three of the small Blushing Bride CS flowers in the top left-hand and top right-hand side corners each with a Pretty Peacock Rhinestone in the centre. Needless to say, they looked like I didn’t know what else to do so I removed them!
I even went as far as die-cutting one of the dogs from the Pampered Pets Designer Series Paper (DSP) and then fussy-cut a smaller one. Neither of the dogs helped to make my card look more complete! Eventually, I decided to give up and share it with you anyway! By the way, I have no idea where the pink bow came from but I feel it helps to balance the design or lack of it!
Bearing in mind I’m happy with my card so far, how would you finish it off? I’m open to suggestions and they will be received with gratitude! Maybe later today I’ll go back to my original design! I think this image will be great for making Christmas cards. Maybe I should have found some small pine cones instead of the flowers and used MERRY CHRISTMAS?
That’s it from me today. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow and in the meantime please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx

Actually at first I thought the ferns were blue pine cones. Maybe if you stamp them in a brown (like Cinnamon Cider) they will look like pine cones and you could use them for a Christmas card?
That’s a great idea, Barbara! I’ll give that a go next time I use this stamp set. Thank you! xx
Don’t feel bad because I think that this stamp set is sort of unfinished. It needs to include some other images. You did a great job with the few stamps in this set!
Many thanks, Debbie. I think your description of “unfinished” hits the nail on the head. It isn’t often I say something negative about Stampin’ Up! products but I have found this stamp set has been a real challenge to use! xx
