The last day of the month is always the busiest day of the month for me. Why I thought it would be a good day to launch my My Aladdin’s Cave of Retired Stampin’ Up! Products for Sale, I have no idea! It was a hectic day but a very satisfying day. I achieved everything I needed to and some more! Some more included re-photographing yesterday’s Thank You card because I’d forgotten about my bumblebee!
I’m really pleased with how my card turned out even if I did use three stamp sets and two sets of dies! The stamp sets are: for the frame, it’s Framed For You; the image is from Field Journal and the sentiment THANKS! is from my go-to sentiment stamp set called Many Mates. I used my Stamparatus to stamp the frame on Whisper White Cardstock (CS) using Crumb Cake Ink.
I used dies nos. 5 and 9 from the Layering Square Dies to die-cut the frame because I knew those two sizes would leave a blank gap all the way around on the inside and the outside of the frame! My Stamparatus was also used for the image which I stamped onto a piece of Whisper White CS using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. It’s extremely rare that I do any stamping now without using my Stamparatus!
It’s amazing what a difference it’s made having it so close to hand! I coloured the leaves in the image using Light Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blend, the berries in Dark Real Red Blend and then I shaded all around the edge using my Light Pool Party Blend! After I’d finished colouring the image I die-cut it with the no. 8 die from the Layering Square Dies so it was smaller than the size of the frame.
To get a good depth between the frame and the image, I used the Foam Adhesive Strips (141825) on the back of the frame and then adhered the image to the Foam Strips. Our Dimensionals are 1/16″ thick and the foam strips are 1/8″ thick. Another reason I prefer using the strips for a job like this is that it’s a tidy view looking sideways at the frame, i.e. one long strip instead of lots of little hexagonal shapes.
The outside strips on a sheet of Dimensionals look equally as tidy but I wanted double the height. It would have been doable to double up on the Dimensionals edges but not as easy as using the strips! Once the frame and image were in place, I painted the berries using the Fine Tip Glue Pen to make them shiny! I stamped the sentiment using Crumb Cake Ink, yes, using my Stamparatus which allowed me to stamp three or four times to get a great depth of colour.
I die-cut the sentiment and a Crumb Cake layer using the Layering Ovals dies, nos. 1 and 2. Before I started putting my cards together, I embossed the top Crumb Cake CS layer using the Subtles 3D Embossing Folder. I didn’t decorate the inside of the card because it’s a Thank You card and I do usually – but not always – leave them blank.
That’s it from me today. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow and in the meantime, stay safe and stay well.
JanB. xx

Beautiful card Jan. I’m going to have to get the subtle embossing folder. I just love that one and it gives your cards just that something extra nice to look at. Be safe & TYFS
