Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday, just by way of a change, when I was ready to start working on today’s card, I had a look at my folders of dies to see which ones I haven’t used yet – normally I look at stamp sets! I chose the Many Medallions Dies which turned out to be quite a challenge because the die-cut was too big for my card and I had to work out how to make it fit!
The main part of the challenge was because on all four sides there are pointed bits that needed to be cut off and I wasn’t sure what effect that would have on the overall design. Rather than spending time worrying what it would look like if I cut this side off, or the bottom piece, I decided to take the plunge and go for it!
As it turned out after I had cut strips off the top, bottom and one side I had to cut a complete strip of “boxes” off the opposite side. Then I started cutting rounded corners on the parts that had straight cuts on them and by the time I had finished I was pleased with the effect. I’m not sure it would look this good if I’d used a colour behind the die-cut rather than white on white!
The only cardstock I’ve used for this card is our gorgeous Shimmery White Cardstock which goes for making a beautiful wedding card, whatever the design. I used the sentiment TO THE NEW MR. & MRS. from the Last a Lifetime Stamp Set. At the same time, I stamped the sentiment, I also stamped and heat embossed the large floral stamp in the set but I decided not to use it.
There are also two hearts in the stamp set and I heat embossed the small one fourteen times! After I had die-cut them all I played around with several possible ways of using them together with the large floral image. Eventually, I gave up and went through my gemstones to find something suitable. I chose the Silver Metallic Pearls.
Today’s card is similar to the Ornate Garden wedding card I shared on 4th April 2020. After I had finished today’s card I did go back and look at the previous card to see how similar it is. The only similarities are they are both white, both wedding cards and both have Silver Pearls. If you’d like to make up your own mind this is the link to check it out! Ornate Garden Wedding Card
The sentiment was die-cut using a die from the Tasteful Labels Dies, which is available as a bundle with the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set. By the way, the Many Medallions Dies are available as a bundle with the Many Mates Stamp Set. To decorate the inside of my card, I cut two squares off the strip of six I’d cut from the main die cut and adhered them horizontally across the bottom.
That’s about it from me today. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow and in the meantime please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx

Such an elegant card, Jan. I dont have Shimmery White CS, so will investigate it further. XX M
Many thanks, Mal. The Shimmery White CS is absolutely gorgeous and I (normally) only use it for special cards because it’s pricey. It has sparkly bits in it and is what I call off-white. If you have a catalogue it’s on page 153 under the heading A4 CARDSTOCK. xx
I like this card better than the Ornate card. FYI: the picture comes through looking like the pearls are blue and I really like the blue color better than I would the silver. Don’t know how you can do so many cards in a week but I do appreciate it.
Many thanks, Barbara. I had to go back and have a look! At first, they looked silver because my brain knew they were silver but when I changed my mind to blue, I agree with you! Funny how our brains work! xx
