Hello, Crafters.
I made a video showing how to make this fabulous fancy-fold card about three years ago. Recently hubby found a photograph of a special tri-fold shutter card I made as a request for someone years ago! I remember making this card partly because I enjoyed making it but also because I loved the Designer Series Paper (DSP) I used. I made the card in February 2013!
The first card I made for today’s video I used the Ornate Garden DSP and for the video card I used the Peony Garden DSP. When I decided to use the Peony Garden for the video I was disappointed to find that I don’t have any Petal Pink 12″ x 12″ cardstock (CS). As often happens this turned out for the best because the video card looks great with a Smokey Slate card base with hints of Petal Pink here and there.
When I made the Ornate Garden DSP card I didn’t find the Ornate Garden Stamp Set provided the right size images I was looking for so I looked at other sets. For the sentiment inside the card, I used YOU MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE from the Beautiful World Stamp Set. Isn’t it a fabulous sentiment?
For the image in the centre of the card, I chose the LOVE floral stamp from the Posted For You Stamp Set. Instead of using the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch which comes as a bundle with the stamp set, I die cut it using the no.3 Rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly dies. It fitted in the centre panel beautifully.
I forgot myself and added some Rhinestones on the back panel which is on the inside of the card. This is something I never do! I will probably change them over with quarter-inch circles punched using some foil cardstock. In the video, although I created the decorative cardstock panel for writing the greeting on the card, I forgot to adhere it in place. I corrected this after the video when I realised!
I have provided all the sizes in inches, metric and US inches! Although the card base is made from a sheet of 12″ x 12″ cardstock, the US need to use a piece that’s 5.5″ x 12″ while the rest of the world can use 6″ x 12″. The reason is that the larger size won’t fit into the regular SU envelopes in the US.
That’s it from me today and I wish you a very blessed Sunday. Take care and stay safe, and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. Happy crafting.

Jan, halfway through watching this amazing card and you mentioned Wednesday and Birthday. OK here in Australia its 5 July late evening so I am assuming this video is 4 July. So please confirm your birthday is worldwide 8 July. Hugs: M
It sure is Wednesday 8th July! Hubby is off work now until Thurs 16th July because we were originally planning to go away! Instead, the garden is having another makeover! xx
Morning Jan. Thank you for the confirmation. Honestly since Covid has hit the world, I do sometimes forget what day of the week it is; I do believe my brain has disappeared on me. XXX M
Thank you beautiful
Many thanks, Nola. xx
Jan I don’t see the measurements for this card under the video. Could you please write them down for me
Hi, Sheila. I emailed the measurements to you yesterday as well as the link to the video where you can see them a lot easier. I have to admit this was the first time I’ve ever done a copy & paste from under one of my videos and I never realised it printed in such a user-unfriendly manner! I will have a re-think about putting a list on my blog. I’ve never done it that way because I’ve never wanted to “force” crafters to go to my blog! I’ll see what I can work out to make life easier. Many thanks for your patience. xx
hello could I get the measurements thank you
Hi, Pat. All the measurements are in the box under the video. If you’re unsure how to access the box these are the instructions: Opening the box on YT
All the measurements and the products used in creating this video are in the box below the video.
