Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday I took some relaxing time to do some fussy cutting for today’s card! It wasn’t my original plan because I was hoping to use the small flowers that can be punched out with the Small Blossom Punch. It’s the one that was carried forward from Sale-a-bration earlier this year but I decided I preferred the flower that has a stem attached to it.
It means that I now have six Gorgeous Grape punched flowers for both of the designs! I’ll be using them in future projects so they won’t be wasted! I used my Stamparatus and the step technique to stamp all the flowers. I mounted the two stamps and inked them both at the same time and because they are less than an inch wide, I was able to move the plate along one notch at a time and stamp again.
Using this technique meant that within a couple of minutes I stamped twelve flowers perfectly. When I realised these flowers weren’t really what I had in my mind for today’s card I took another plate and attached the other two stamps and used the step technique again but this time I had to move the plate along two notches each time.
I stamped the basket and coloured it with Light and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. After painting all over using the Light Blend I used the Dark Blends on all the areas where the artist had put shadow lines. After giving the ink a few seconds for the alcohol to evaporate I coloured the darker areas. Again, after the alcohol had evaporated I went back with the Light Blend to blend the light and dark together.
After I had the basket out, to arrange my flowers and leaves, I used some temporary adhesive along a small part of the reverse side of the basket and put it in position on the Whisper White Cardstock (CS) oval I had prepared earlier. It was very easy to adhere the fussy cut leaves and flowers in the positions I wanted them to be, once the basket was stopped from moving around!
I chose the sentiment OF ALL THE BLOSSOMS IN LIFE’S GARDEN, FRIENDSHIP IS THE MOST FRAGRANT which is from Grace’s Garden Stamp Set. After stamping it onto a piece of Whisper White CS I die-cut it using the no 2 die from the oblong stitched dies in the Hippo & Friends Dies. By the way, I used the no 4 oval die from the Stitched Shapes Dies for the Whisper White oval I mounted the basket of flowers onto.
I embossed the top Gorgeous Grape layer using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and put my card and layers together. To decorate the front of the card, I put some Shimmery Crystal Effects in the centres of all the flowers and then painted all the flowers and the leaves using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.
I found some retired Gorgeous Grape Glitter Enamel Dots in my stash so I added three of different sizes in a vertical line in the top right-hand corner and three more the same in a horizontal line in the bottom left-hand corner. Finally, I added three of the smallest size in random positions on the image oval. Both the image and the sentiment have been adhered to the card front on Dimensionals.
I haven’t decorated the inside of the card except for adding a middle layer of Whisper White CS – the jury is out on what I want to do! That’s it from me today and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx

Very pretty – I am passionate for purple! Your cards always look clean and professional!
Many thanks, Billie. I like purple, too but I have to be careful or I’ll use it all the time! LOL! xx
