Hello, Crafters.
It was so lovely to get back to “normal” yesterday after the Leader’s Summit! After Church (via Zoom) I did some catching up with emails and comments on my blog, YouTube and Facebook. Then I was back crafting! Ahhhh…… that’s more like it, so relaxing! It was time for me to finish off the card I gave you a sneak peek of on Friday, or was it Thursday??
My card today was inspired by a fabulous card shared on my public Facebook group called Happy Crafting. The card was made by Alison Markham who didn’t use Stampin’ Up! products but that’s OK. On her card, Alison used a Scottie dog wearing a tartan “coat” and she stamped him four times in a circle. In between each image of the Scottie running Alison had stamped a butterfly which made me think of the Scottie chasing the butterfly! From the Pampered Pets Stamp Set, I chose the cat that’s curled up trying to sleep! I used my Stamparatus for the four cat images but I did the mice by putting the stamp on a small block.
amped three mice in between each pair of cats and made sure I kept them all in – more or less – the same position. For all the stamping on this card, I used Tuxedo Black ink because my favourite way of colouring nowadays is to use our Stampin’ Blends. I used Light and Dark Smokey Slate for the cat; for the mice, I used Light and Dark Crumb Cake. If you look really closely you’ll see that I also used Dark Rococo Rose for the cat’s mouth – it really is very tiny! After I had stamped the sentiment I HOPE YOUR DAY IS A REAL TREAT onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock (CS), I die-cut it using the no. 2 oval die from the Stitched Shapes Dies.
I layered the sentiment onto a Rococo Rose CS scalloped oval I’d die-cut using the no. 3 scalloped oval die from the Stitched Layering Ovals Dies. Next, I adhered the layer onto a layer of Rococo Rose and then adhered it onto a 5½” x 5½” Whisper White CS card base. The top layer measures 4 7/8″ square, the middle layer is 5 1/8″ square.
Inside the card, I added a top layer of Whisper White CS and a middle layer of Rococo Rose CS. Before I adhered these layers together, I stamped and coloured an image of the cat in the bottom right-hand corner and a mouse creeping up behind him! This card is a little bit of fun but not suitable for anyone who has an aversion to mice! I’d like to say many thanks to Alison Markham for inspiring this card. If anyone would like to join my Happy Crafting Facebook group I’d love to have you on board! This is the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/JanBHappyCrafting. When you apply to join you are asked two questions about your crafting likes. This information isn’t used for anything apart from confirming you are a crafter.
Before the Leader’s Summit started we had to do some homework; namely, we had to list certain figures from our business for the last quarter of last year and then fill out what are our goals are for the same quarter this year! This info was for us to use during certain sessions and discussions. SU had also pulled off 5 reports and called it We Bettered Our Best! I was thrilled that for the period covered I was in the list of 45 demos in the Leadership Category! Boy was I chuffed!
In September there will be a new promotion for recruiting new team members! Did you notice the change in terminology? I’m thrilled that SU are now talking about team members rather than recruits! Everybody in my team knows that I absolutely refuse to use the words upline and downline! I have a team of crafters and I’m the team leader. I will give you more details about the new promotion tomorrow and in the meantime, please think about whether you’d like to be in my team which is called Super Stars! 🤩 ‘ll leave that with you today and will look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, please take care and stay safe! Happy crafting.
JanB. xx
