Hello, Crafters.
Here in the UK, we are enjoying some very high temperatures! Yesterday was the hottest August day for 17 years with temperatures reaching 36°C (96.8°F). Unfortunately, hot weather can bring problems. One of our local beauty spots, Chobham Common, had a huge wildfire yesterday. Fortunately, the emergency services were able to get it under control; unfortunately not before it reached the golf club! After doing all my admin jobs yesterday, I started working on my video for Sunday. I finished my prototype, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to do my “before the video” card. I’ll have to wait and see how it goes. My plan is to prepare the cardstock and Designer Series Paper (DSP) I need for the video, and see if I can do another card first or feel that I’d be pushing my luck!
To create today’s card I used the Wishes and Wonder Stamp Set that bundles together with the North Pole Wonder Dies. I chose to use the mistletoe image so I could use it with a gold hoop. I used my Stamparatus and stamped a total of five images using the step technique. I moved the plate when I stamped the third – last – image so I turned my cardstock sideways and put the plate back to the beginning. After I stamped the fourth image, there was space for one more so I stamped the fifth!
Using the Light Just Jade Stampin’ Blend, I coloured two of the images and then I die-cut them both before I fussy cut them both. When I’m going to fussy cut an image if there is a die I use it first because I find it easier to fussy cut a die-cut. Do you find this? I used Tombow to adhere the images to the hoop and I cut one of the two images into three pieces which made it so much easier to arrange on the hoop. I embossed the top Whisper White Cardstock (CS) layer using the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder. When it was dry, I adhered it to a middle layer of Just Jade, and then onto a card base of Pretty Peacock CS.
I chose the sentiment MAY THE WONDER OF CHRISTMAS STAY WITH YOU THROUGHOUT THE COMING YEAR from the Wishes and Wonder Stamp Set. After setting the stamp on my Stamparatus and tested it was straight, I used Just Jade Ink to stamp onto a strip of Whisper White CS. I die-cut it using the slim no 2 die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies and adhered it to a layer of Just Jade CS I’d die-cut using die no. 3.
To finish the front of my card I added a small bow made with some Whisper White Polka Dot Tuille Ribbon to the gold hoop. Next, I painted the mistletoe berries using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen, and the final touch was scattering some Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes. These are a great new product and there are two sheets in the pack – one with greeny-blue colours and the other sheet has pinky colours!
Time was getting on and I only managed to get a top layer of Whisper White CS adhered to a middle layer of Just Jade CS. Next, I adhered them inside the card. I will paint a third mistletoe image, die-cut it and adhere it inside the card in the bottom right-hand corner. It won’t take me long to finish that off this morning before I start on tomorrow’s video.
That’s about it from me today. I hope you have a super weekend and whatever your plans are, please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx

Have you ever tried using the Stampin Blends on the dots of the ribbon you used on this card? If it works, I think Just Jade dots would tie it all together…or would it be too much? Just a thought.
The ribbon seems to get lost on the white background.
That’s a great idea, Barbara. If doing just the spots doesn’t work, I might try all of it! TFS. xx
