Hello, Crafters.
Today’s cards are two sample cards that new team members can make in their first event if they join Stampin’ Up! during September. Yesterday was the last day of the month which is always the busiest day of the month for me. It’s the day I write and send out my monthly newsletter with all the news for the forthcoming month and there was a lot to share this month.
You probably know I ran my own special promotion during August which has proved to be very successful. The offer was a free pack of 48 sheets of 6″ x 6″ retired Designer Series Papers and speciality papers for customers who placed an order of £30 or more. This had to be after their Bonus Day Coupons had been applied but before the delivery charge had been added. It was also one pack per customer.
I’m running another promotion for September and this time it’s retired ribbons and trims. I’m keeping the value of orders at £30 before the delivery charge has been added. My customers who qualify will receive five packs of ribbon that are two yards long plus one pack which will have the end of a roll of ribbon on it. This could be any length up to about 65″, i.e. almost 72″ (2 yards!). Each ribbon will have been carefully wrapped around a handmade cardboard ribbon bobbin and will have the colour and the length written on the bobbin. Each ribbon will be put into its own small ziplock bag, so my customers can put the bags straight into their ribbon box/drawer with confidence knowing that the new bags of ribbon won’t create a mess!
The first good news from Stampin’ Up! tomorrow is that the standard-size Cut & Emboss Machine will be available for everyone to buy. The date the mini machine will be available hasn’t been announced yet. The Cut & Emboss comes complete with all the necessary plates needed for die-cutting and embossing.
Each plate is numbered and the correct sandwiches are listed on the plates – it’s so easy to know what plates you need for what! These are the plates you’ll receive: Plate no. 1 – Base Plate; Plate no. 2 – Die Plate; Plate no. 3 (you’ll receive two of these) – Cutting Plates; Plate no. 4 – Specialty Plate to be used for embossing with the 3D Dies.
Plate no. 5 will be available to purchase tomorrow and it’s called the Magnetic Cutting Plate – I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these! This is a thin fully magnetic sheet with a self-healing surface! There will also be available at some time Impression Mats (I’ll try and find out if we have a date for these). These are to be used with dies to emboss with rather than die-cut with! The promotions that Stampin’ Up! run are worldwide and when I quote monetary amounts I refer to the UK and Europe. If you’re outside of our market, please check with your demonstrator to find out the monetary values in your market. For the month of September Stampin’ Up! are running the Get & Go Recruitment Promotion.
This has been planned to help new team members to do their first event whether it’s face-to-face or virtually. As well as the normal offer of paying £99/€125 and choose £130/€175 worth of products, new team members will also receive the Queen Anne’s Lace Stamp Set, the So Much Love Stamp Set, a pack of Basic Rhinestones, and 8 individual packs of two designs of ready to go card kits – a total of 16 packs.
Stampin’ Up! have also designed two sample cards for each kit and two of the designs are the cards I’m sharing with you today. Obviously new team members won’t have to use any of the designs if they don’t want to. Personally I like the four designs and will try and make the other two tomorrow. I found the recipe for today’s two cards but not for the other two……..yet!! I stayed with the design with one slight modification on each card. The image layer on the Granny Apple Green card was adhered on top of the strips – which were adhered with Dimensionals – with more Dimensionals. I used Tombow because I didn’t want double-height Dimensionals! My slight change on the Coastal Cabana card was that I stamped off the Bermuda Bay ink which was used for the second step stamping.
I also added a Whisper White Cardstock layer inside each card. There isn’t any stamping on the Thank You card but I did stamp a small flower inside the card that matched the front of the Granny Apple Green card. That’s about all the news today. Hopefully, life will be back to normal tomorrow!! Please let me know if you have any questions about today’s news items! I look forward to being back with you tomorrow and in the meantime please take care and stay safe! Happy crafting.
