Hello, Crafters.
I hope you were able to get any products you were after on the Clearance Rack yesterday. As always, there were some amazing bargains to be had! Yesterday also saw the start of customers being able to buy the fabulous new EXCLUSIVE Cut & Emboss machine and when we could all buy the Magnetic Plate for the machine.
If that wasn’t enough for one day, it was also the start of the new Get & Go Recruitment Promotion. New recruits will also receive two free stamp sets – Queen Anne’s Lace and So Much Love – a pack of basic Rhinestones and sixteen packs (eight of each of two designs) of individual card kits to help new recruits have their first event. This is on top of the £130/€175 worth of free products they can choose! If they already have enough other products there’s no reason why they can’t choose to have a new Cut & Emboss machine!
Have you seen the Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper in the Mini (Christmas) Catalogue (153513 page 37)? It’s stunning and like all the Glimmer paper we’ve ever had, it doesn’t shed! I decided to use it for today’s card and paired it up with the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set and the So Many Snowflakes Dies. I used the die that cuts the snowflake out of the top layer.
This gave me the opportunity to use the Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper as the middle layer so it could be seen through the die-cut snowflake as well as around the edges of the Whisper White Cardstock (CS) top layer. The only adhesives that adhere to Glimmer Paper is Tombow and Glue Dots. If you use Tombow, you need to allow it time to dry, preferably under a heavyweight. I have tried using Glue Dots but they were visible through my top layer of Whisper White CS. My preferred method is to use Dimensionals and add some Tombow to each Dimensional after removing the backing. This is how I attached the two layers on this card. Inside today’s card, I adhered a middle layer of Balmy Blue CS and then a top layer of Whisper White CS.
I decorated the inside of the card by adhering a Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper medium-sized die-cut snowflake in the bottom right-hand corner. The sentiment SNOWFLAKE WISHES FOR A MERRY CHRISTMAS was stamped onto a strip – 7/8″ high by the width of the top layer – of Whisper White CS with the aid of my Stamparatus. The first stamp came out beautifully but I gave it a second stamp just in case I could get it a bit darker!
I layered it onto a strip – 1 1/8″ high by the width of the middle layer – of Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper. The sentiment was adhered to the Glimmer Paper with Dimensionals and Tombow, and then it was adhered to the card front using Tombow. I decorated the front of my card using some Basic Rhinestones, starting with a circle of seven large gems in the centre and then six smaller gems near the tips of the snowflakes, and finally three more on the sentiment strip!
That’s about it for today. I’m looking forward to having an easier day today! My plans are to catch up on the videos of the presentations I missed at the Leader’s Summit. While I’m sitting here I’ll be wrapping two-yard length’s of retired ribbon onto cardboard bobbins. These are extra gifts for my September customers who place an order for £30 – excluding the delivery charge. (One pack per customer).
I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx

Thanks Jan for the tip about adding Tombow to dimensionsals to ensure a good adherence. XX M
Many thanks, Mal. It’s a trick you can use with other adhesives when you need a bit of extra time to adhere it straight. xx
Another beautiful creation! Puts a bit of crispness in the air to see the snowflake (despite FL’s still hot days.). The glue tips are helpful for layering with the glimmer paper – wish I had thought to add the blue to my recent order…. but of course now i must buy the snowflake die set as well… How do YOU manage your time so well??!!!
Many thanks, Billie. The Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper is stunning. I’ve used it again for Thursday’s card……………..and it’s more snowflakes! They make a brilliant combination! I’m not sure my hubby would agree with you about me managing my time well! I’m very much lastminute.dot.com!LOL! xx
