Hello, Crafters.
Earlier this week, when I filed away my October customer thank you cards I’d just finished making, I saw a 3″ x 3″ Christmas card I’d received last year as a swap. It had been made using the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley which has been brought forward from last Christmas and I’ve overlooked it each time I’ve gone to make a new card for my blog. Seeing this swap card was a timely reminder and prompted me to use it to create today’s card. I wanted to use the stickers of green leaves and red berries but my thought processes took me towards the reindeer instead!I started my card with an Old Olive Cardstock (CS) card base, then a middle layer of Mossy Meadow CS, and the top layer inside the card is Pear Pizzazz CS. I chose a design of small Christmas trees from the Most Wonderful Time Designer Series Paper (DSP) for the left-hand half of the card front. For the right-hand side I chose a piece of Pear Pizzazz CS which I embossed using the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder. I cut a half inch strip of the Red Velvet Paper (153490) and adhered it on a strip of Gold Foil and then adhered it across the join of the two pieces.
Using the no. 7 straight cut circle die from the Layering Circle Dies to dies cut a circle of Red Velvet Paper which I then embossed using the Winter Snow Embossing Folder. I layered it onto a Gold Foil circle I’d die-cut using the no.4 circle die from the Stitched Shapes Dies. I adhered three self-adhesive star stickers – two on the Red Velvet circle and one on the left-hand side of the card front. I chose one of my favourite Christmas sentiments from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set, using Mossy Meadow Ink and my Stamparatus. It was die-cut using the no.1 regular die from the Stitched Rectangle dies.
The reindeer I chose to use was a self-adhesive sticker which I wanted to use popped up on Dimensionals. In cases like this, I use a rather old Embossing Buddy and tap over the sticky area so the powder inside the Embossing Buddy covers and stops the stickiness. It worked brilliantly. To decorate the inside of my card I added a female deer in the bottom right-hand corner and a star in the top left-hand corner. I don’t like the look of this deer – I think it looks funny without antlers! Hopefully, the recipient won’t agree with me!
That’s it from me today. I hope you have a lovely day, take care and stay safe. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx
