Hello, Crafters.
It’s the weekend and I’ve just finished my first part-time week! I can’t say it feels much different from my previous full-time weeks but I am really happy to be back into a routine again. I spent most of my day yesterday preparing Sunday’s video and although I knew what I was going to be doing, I played around with the same idea but with different options! – you’ll see what I mean tomorrow! Making the video is the only job I’m planning to do today. Hubby is working over the weekend so I’ll be amusing myself with other plans!
Today I’m sharing one of two Sympathy cards I needed to make last week. I used the Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set for this card and stamped the main image on a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock (CS) using Versamark. After I covered the image with Gold Emboss Powder I heat set it using my heat tool. I am still totally fascinated when I watch Emboss Powder melting. I chose the SHARING IN YOUR SORROW sentiment from the Path of Petals Stamp Set and heat emboss it in Gold as well.
Inside my cards, I normally add a small decoration but I never add a sentiment. I did for this card because I knew who I was sending it to and was, therefore, able to choose a sentiment that was appropriate for the recipient. The sentiment reads MAY THE MEMORIES OF YESTERDAY COMFORT YOU TODAY which I know my recipient would really appreciate. It comes from the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set. After I had heat embossed this sentiment, I stamped and heat embossed part of the dandelions image in the bottom right-hand corner. I was very pleased how it turned out.
I used a Whisper White Cardstock (CS) card base with a middle layer of Gold Foil and a top layer – inside and out – of Whisper White CS. I dry-embossed the top Whisper White CS layer on the front of my cardstock using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. After I had fussy-cut the three Dandelion seed heads I adhered them to the top layer using Dimensionals. I used the no. 3 Stitched Nested Label Die to die-cut the sentiment. Then I adhered it to the front of the card using Dimensionals. I added three Gilded Gems in the centre of the three Dandelions and two small Gold Metallic Pearls to the sentiment.
I finished off by tying a small piece of Gold Twine – from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack – to each of the three stems. It frayed very easily and stayed in place when I tied each piece tightly. I didn’t add any gems on the dandelions on the inside of the card although I did put a small piece of white card over the front of the card when I placed it inside the envelope. I find this is a great way of preventing the gems damaging the envelopes.
That’s it from me today. I’ll be back in the morning with the Sunday video. In the meantime, I hope you have a great weekend, take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx

Jan, This is a beautiful card. Perfect! Thank you for sharing your talent.
Many thanks, France. Sometimes I think sympathy cards can be harder than masculine cards. xx
