Hello, Crafters.
Just by way of a change, I didn’t use a sketch to create today’s card! This is my first play with the gorgeous Curvy Christmas Stamp Set and the matching Curvy Dies. These products are available from a bundle that’s on special promotion until 4th January 2021. This stamp set and the Classic Designer Series Paper (DSP) – the Sahara Sand stars design that provides the background for the forest in today’s card – are both available until 4th Januaty 2021. The other two products – the Quite Curvy Stamp Set and the Curvy Dies – will be available in the new Spring/Summer Catalogue which will go live on 5th January 2021.
The DSP comes in Sahara Sand, Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce. Most of the designs are generic and will be suitable to use for your card making after – there are just three designs that say “Christmas”. Please click on this link to see the Curvy Celebrations products which are available now!
I started my design by stamping the curvy stamp of Christmas trees onto a piece of Classic Christmas DSP using Shaded Spruce Ink. Using my Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Write Marker Pen I coloured in the tree and then the trunks using my Crumb Cake marker pen. I used my Paper Snips to cut just below the stamped grass underneath the treesI Next I took a piece of Whisper White Cardstock (CS) which was about the size of a middle layer and used the curvy die that has the row of dots to cut the cardstock into two pieces about halfway down. This allowed me to use the plain cut immediately under the trees and then the curve with the holes underneath it!
I used my Stamapratus to stamp my sentiment THINKING OF YOU AT CHRISTMAS in Shaded Spruce Ink so that it followed the curve under the trees. I die cut the reindeer from the North Pole Wonder Dies using Sahara Sand CS. I was pleased how everything fitted in but the bottom left-hand corner looked rather bare. I decided to use the greenery dies in the North Pole Wonder and the Curvy dies and die-cut one of each which gave me a total of four. Two were ample which allowed me two for inside the card although one was enough!
I was very clumsy and put some ink in the sky towards the left-hand side and needed something to cover it up! I decided the star from the Most Wonderful Time Dies would work beautifully. To finish off the front of my card I painted all the trees, the greenery, the star and the reindeer using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.
To decorate the inside of my card I added a middle layer of Shaded Spruce CS and a top layer of Whisper White CS. I die-cut and adhered another deer in the bottom right-hand corner and adhered one left over branch of greenery in the bottom left-hand corner. To make them match the front of the card I painted the reindeer and the greenery using my Wink of Stella Pen. I thoroughly enjoyed creating today’s card and need to play with this bundle a bit more to see what else can be achieved with these curvy dies!
That’s it from me today! I look forward to being back with you soon and in the meantime please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx
