Hello, Crafters.
I’m so sorry I didn’t post a blog yesterday morning! Unfortunately, my website went down! Because I have been having other issues – which haven’t affected my posting my blog – my IT guru has suggested that I switch to a different hosting company when my renewal is due next ……..August 2021! I’ve agreed with her suggestion unless the situation gets worse then I’ll have to change mid-year!Yesterday, Stampin’ Up! issued this update regarding the Magnetic Cutting Mat: “Due to quality concerns, and to ensure our customers have the best possible product, we have decided to stop selling the Magnetic Cutting Plate (item 149656), effective immediately…….We are working hard to resolve the issues with this product. However, we are unable to estimate when or what that will be at this time. As always, we will keep you posted with any updates……All demonstrators and customers who have previously ordered the Magnetic Cutting Plate will automatically receive coupon codes in an email as compensation. This email will be issued sometime in November. Feel free to keep or discard your Magnetic Cutting Plates as we do not need them returned.”
It’s at times like this that I feel extra proud to work for a company that won’t hesitate to withdraw any product that doesn’t come up to its exacting high quality standards. Although it’s very disappointing, I’m confident that Stampin’ Up! will resolve the issue or come up with an equivalent suitable alternative.
Yesterday Stampin’ Up! also announced that the Full Wide Stamp Cases (item 127551) will be retiring and will not appear in next year’s 2021 Annual Catalogue. They are now only available while stocks last! If you’re like me and use these boxes for storage, please order them now! Before supplies are exhausted! This announcement definitely applies in Europe but I don’t know if it also applies in North America or South Pacific (please check with your demonstrator).
Today’s card is what I should have shared with you yesterday if my website was up and running. I based it on another sketch (OWH010) and this time I have included a photograph of the sketch! The photograph is a photograph of a computer printout – not brilliant but it does give you the idea! I chose some Most Wonderful Time Designer Series Paper (DSP) and some candy cane stickers from the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley.
I created the tags using the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Although I changed my card size, I did stay with the sizes for the tags. I started by taking a long one inch wide off-cut of Whisper White Cardstock (CS) and punched one end. After I cut that end to measure 1 3/4″ long, I repeated the process but this time punching it both ends and then cutting both to 1 3/4″. Next, I embossed all three tags using my Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. Using my Crop-a-dile, I punched a 1/8″ hole in the top of each tag which turned out to be an unnecessry step because I covered the holes with a very small bow. The ribbon I used was from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack (item 152466) which also comes with some Black & White Baker’s Twine. It’s a very soft ribbon which was easy to tie into a small bows.
I used the SEASON’S GREETING sentiment, which is from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set and stamped it on a scrap of Whisper White CS using Real Red Ink. I die-cut it using a die from the All Dressed Up Dies. When I created this sentiment, I made four more and I also made five of the BLESSED CHRISTMAS WISHES from the same stamp set also in Real Red Ink. I did vary the die with the no 1 slim die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies. All the stamped sentiments from that stamp set are now in a small cello bag, popped behind the front cover of the stamp box! Inside the card I added a middle layer of Real Red CS and a top layer of Whisper White CS which I decorated in the bottom right hand corner with a larger candy cane sticker!
This afternoon at 4 pm (GMT) sees the start of our virtual OnStage@Home event with the Recognition Event. We are under strict instructions not to share any of the rewards until 4 am (GMT) Friday 6th November so that we don’t spoil the surprises for demonstrators in other parts of the world. During the course of the event, I aim to post a blog each day to share something even if I’m not able to make a card. 😉That’s about it from me today. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow and in the meantime, please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx
