Hello, Crafters!
I hope you have had a fantastic Christmas even if, like ours, it was very different from normal! Where we live here in the UK, we are in tier 4 which is almost a total lockdown so hubby and I were home alone! Looking back we realised this was our first Christmas in the twenty-one years we have celebrated Christmas together where we have celebrated just on our own! Despite this we had a lovely three-day break which included family Zoom calls, watching films, playing games and eating! Hubby went back to work yesterday, and so did I!
Today’s card is the first bit of crafting I have done since I made the Darling Donkeys card I shared on Boxing Day – I had scheduled it on Christmas Eve. For today’s card I wasn’t sure whether to use a forthcoming stamp set or something there’s a good chance you may have – I chose the latter. As you can see by what I have done to this card, any fairly large image will work. I used the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set for my main image.
I started with a piece of Whisper White Cardstock (CS) that’s a quarter of an inch smaller on two sides to my regular top layer, i.e. 5 1/8″ x 3 1/2″ (US 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″). Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the image in the centre and coloured it using Stampin’ Blends. The colours I used are Light and Dark Petal Pink, Light and Dark Just Jade and Light Pool Party. I cut the image approximately in half vertically at 1 3/4″ (US 1 13/16″) and horizontally 1 7/8″ (US 1 5/8″) down from the top on the left-hand side panel, and 1 7/8″ (US 1 5/8″) up from the bottom of the right-hand panel. PLEASE NOTE: if you’re using the US measurements quoted here, please check them on some scrap paper and adjust if necessary. The measurements don’t have to be precise.
Next I adhered my four image pieces to a top layer of Just Jade CS and then onto a middle layer of Whisper White CS. I used some of the Just Jade Gingham Ribbon which is available in the Annual Catalogue on page 161 (153620) to tie around the image layer and into a bow at the front. As well as the Gingham Ribbon, which is part of the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack, there is also a spool of Whisper White Faux Linen Ribbon and five yards of Misty Moonlight/Silver Baker’s Twine.
After I had adhered the image layers to a Just Jade CS card base, I stamped the BIRTHDAY WISHES sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthday Stamp Set using Just Jade Ink. Next, I die-cut it using the Stitched Rectangle dies (slim die no. 1) and I cut a layer of Just Jade CS which measured 5/8″ x 2 5/8″ – the die-cut measured 1/2″ x 2 1/2″. I was pleased with how my card turned out but it needed something to finish it off! I played with birds and butterflies and chose two small birds from the Quite Curvy Stamp Set. This is still available as a special promotion with the Curvy Christmas Stamp Set and Classic Christmas 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack until 4th January 2021. After this date the Quite Curvy Stamp Set and matching Curvy Dies will be available from the new Spring/Summer Mini Catalogue.
I popped the birds up on Dimensionals and the sentiment on a piece of Adhesive Foam Sheet. Inside the card I added a top layer of Just Jade CS and a middle layer of Whisper White CS. I decorated the bottom right-hand corner with two flowers from the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set stamped, painted and die-cut with a small image of two leaves painted with Just Jade Ink. To finish off my card I added four Champagne Basic jewels in the centres of the four main flowers.
It’s good to be back crafting and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. Please take good care and stay safe. In the meantime, happy crafting.
JanB. xx

Morning Jan and welcome back. Glad you and Othman had a lovely Christmas, despite being without personal contact with your Family.
Your card is just beautiful and this is something I have not seen done before and one which I will definitely copy if I can find an appropriate floral image in my small range of stamp sets.
Blessings to you both and bring on 2021. XX Mal
Many thanks, Mal. Yes, this is an easy design to copy. xx
Love it…..Happy New Year!
Many thanks, Reba. You, too! xx
