Hello, Crafters.
The Giant Year-End Closeout Sale has started! A lot of the products currently available in the Mini Christmas Catalogues are on offer with discounts ranging between 10 – 50%! All retiring products will be available while stocks last. Products and discounts may vary by market depending on inventory levels. As an extra bonus you’ll also get a peek at the list of items carrying over to the new annual catalogue – carryover products will not be discounted! I have already sent the European lists out to everyone in my Email Newsletter Group earlier today. If you’re in North America or South Pacific, please contact your demonstrator for the lists for your market. 😀 IMPORTANT!! When you’re checking out the Closeout, make sure you check the Clearance Rack, too!
Today’s card is one of three I have made using the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Quite Curvy Stamp Set plus Curvy Dies. These last two products are still available as part of the Quite Curvy Variety Bundle. They are on pre-release form the Spring/Summer Mini Catalogue that will go live on 5th January 2021. The other two products that form part of the variety bundle are the Curvy Christmas Stamp Set and the Classic Christmas 6″ x 6″ DSP.
If you haven’t checked this bundle out yet I really recommend you do. The DSP is in Cherry Cobbler, Sahara Sand, and Shaded Spruce. Each colour has the same designs and they all have white as well. One of the beauties of this DSP is that there are only three designs that are specifically Christmas designs, which means you can still be using this pack of DSP through next year! When you check the Curvy Christmas Stamp Set, apart from the sentiments, a number of the images can be used through the year! For example, the bow and two of the leaf stamps. When I used the curvy stamp with stars on it recently, I said I thought it looked like music; therefore it could be used through the year. Check it out and see if you agree with me!
Equally, the bird stamps and dies in the Quite Curvy Stamp Set and Dies made beautiful robins on one of my Christmas cards last week! I’ve used two of the birds on today’s card but stamped them using Smokey Slate Ink onto a sheet of the Peony Garden DSP. The branch they are standing on is the same as the leaf stamps in the Curvy Christmas Stamp Set. My branch has been die-cut with a die from a die in the Curvy Dies. I used the fancy curve die on a piece of Grey Granite DSP and then set in in my Stamparatus to stamp the sentiment WISHING YOU THE HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS. I used Grey Granite Ink and stamp three times to get a dark sentiment. Unfortunately, when it dried I decided it was a bit too light but I know if I’d used Black Ink it would have been too dark.
I finished off the front of the card by adding two short pennants which is an idea that Kristie Marcotte uses a lot. It’s a relatively small detail but gives the front of the card a finished look to it! I started my card with a Petal Pink Cardstock (CS) card base, a middle layer of Smokey Slate CS and a top layer of a Petal Pink mottled design from the DSP. To decorate the inside of the card, I used the offcut of the DSP that I stamped the sentiment on for the front of my card. I had added a middle layer of Smokey Slate CS and a top layer of Petal Pink CS. I adhered the DSP offcut on the right-hand side of the top layer although it would have worked just as well had I put it the other end.
Whichever end I had chosen, it saved the offcut from being disposed of! To finish off the inside of the card, I adhered two die-cut leaves; one in Petal Pink CS and one in Smokey Slate CS. The final touch was adding some Elegant Faceted Gems to the two pennants on the front of the card. That’s it from me today. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow and in the meantime, please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
