Hello, Crafters.
Last week I shared a card I had made using strawberries and I said I haven’t made cards using fruit before. Surprise! Surprise! Today’s video showcases blueberries from the Berry Blessings Stamp Set and the Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper (DSP). Both these items together are a level two gift from the Sale-a-bration Brochure. They co-ordinate with the Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set that’s available in the new Spring/Summer Mini Catalogue as a bundle together with the Strawberry Builder Punch. I think it’s safe to say I’ll be using fruit for cards again!
Both of these fruit stamp sets are two-step stamping and in the video I demonstrate how to line up the blueberries and the leaves with hints on what to watch out for. I chose the blueberries because I felt they would make a nice masculine card without using something that is specifically masculine! Do you agree this is a good masculine card?
The reason I chose the blueberries was so I could use Pacific Point Ink, cardstock and a DSP design. It isn’t often that Pacific Point is featured in such a prominent way as it is with this set. I didn’t use my Cut & Emboss Machine to create this card because occasionally I think it’s helpful to crafters who don’t own a die-cutting machine.
The only part of this card where I could have used my C&E machine is with the stamped images on the mini card although this would have meant re-calculating some sizes because I would have used one of the Stitched Shapes Dies . The sentiment I used on my video card HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU SWEET THING is from the Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set.
I did question myself whether this sentiment would be acceptable on a masculine card or not. To find the answer, I asked myself if I would send this card to my son-in-law and the answer was yes…….. because he really is very sweet man. I didn’t have a ribbon in either Balmy Blue or Pacific Point so I used the Demin Blue Ribbon. Denim goes with just about everything!
That’s about it from me today. I wish you a very blessed Sunday and Take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx
Wat een mooie kaarten jan. Vind persoonlijk de hortensia het mooiste. En wat een leuk model weer.
Fijne zondag
Groetjes Manon
Ik ben het ermee eens, Manon. De hortensia is prachtig. Beste wensen. xx
Yummy card! Looks good enough to eat. Exciting colors and interesting fancy fold! Anyone – guy or gal – will be happy to receive it for sure!
Many thanks, Billie. I love the colours, too. xx
Hello Jan, I haven’t seen a card like this fancy fold one. I like it. You do a fantastic job in stamping. I just received the Stamparatus and now am doing better with this tool versus the blocks. Although I do like the Rock a Blocks as well. Be safe & TYFS
Many thanks, Claire. I think the Stamparatus is a fantastic tool. I hope you love working with it as much as I do. xx
Morning Jan. This is such a lovely card and one I am extremely confident in making. Blessings to you both. XX Mal and our huge Gang.
Many thanks, Mal. Hope the gang are all keeping well! xx
Morning Jan. Just finished feeding the smaller animals – started at 4am and it is now 9.30am. They are all good and the 4 injured possums are fairing rather well and enjoying the comfort and warmth from my Border Terrier, Maddi who is a real gem in caring for the injured animals. Going to make this card today for a fellow carer who is having a hard time following some recent fires on her land (purposely set by a sad person – unknown person). Blessings to you both. XX M
Hi, Mal. Maddi sounds an absolute gem – takes after her mistress! xxx
Jan I am looking for the measurements for your video on the blueberry card and I can’t seem to find them. Help! I love your cards. Thanks for sharing
Hi, Sandy. To find the box you need to be watching the video on YouTube, then it depends on which device you’re watching on. If it’s a PC or laptop, under the video you’ll see three lines of writing, and then SHOW MORE – click on it and it’ll open the box with all the measurements. If you’re on a mobile, you’ll see a down arrow on the right-hand side. I hope this helps. xx
