Inside Flap Card Video

Birthday Cards· Fancy Fold Cards· Videos

10 Jan

Hello, Crafters.

This week’s video is another easy fancy fold card which I’m calling an Inside Flap Card. My prototype is the Rococo Rose and Just Jade floral card. The flap inside is on the left-hand side which isn’t what I had planned so I have taken a photograph of two green card bases further down which show how to cut your card base to work the way you want it to.

Each of the green cards has instructions on it how to achieve the fold that each card features. I’ve put some yellow Post It Notes under the end of the flap so it’s easy to see which direction the flap is going. There are four ways this flap can be positioned, i.e the two ways the green examples are shown and each of these cards can be used vertically i.e. the inside flap opens up or down.

To create the floral card, I painted the top layer of True Love Designer Series Paper (DSP) using Light Rococo Rose and Light Just Jade Stampin Blends. The HAPPY BIRTHDAY is from the Pretty Perennials Stamp Set and I’ve added two small flower buds from the Forever & Always Stamp Set which goes with this DSP.

On the small flap inside the card I adhered a spotty design from the DSP and then added two flowers I had fussy cut from the same sheet of DSP that I used for the front of my card. On the next page I added a third design and added LET’S CELEBRATE YOU sentiment which is from the Bloom & Grow Stamp Set. I die-cut it using a die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and decorated around it with floral images from the matching stamp set.

For the video card I used the Playful Pets DSP using a selection of the cats. The sentiment on the front is the same as my first card and was decorated using the small double hearts stamp from the Pampered Pets Stamp Set. The stamp images were hollow hearts and I coloured them in using my Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker.

On the small flap I adhered an oval die-cut from one of the designs from the DSP and on the third page I added the YOUR FRIENDSHIP IS A BLESSING sentiment which is from the So Sentimental Stamp Set. I stamped three sets of hearts around the sentiment and coloured them is as before. To finish off this page I adhered two fussy-cut cats I found in the DSP scraps plastic wallet!

By the way, I don’t think I’ve explained that Stampin’ Up! are no longer supplying Whisper White Cardstock. The company that produced it for us closed very suddenly and I understand it was Covid-related. I’m pleased to say that Stampin’ Up! has sourced another white cardstock that we are assured is every bit as good as Whisper White and will be called Basic White.

This was a great little project and a great way of showing off our beautiful DSP’s! That’s it from me today. I wish you a very blessed Sunday. Please take very good care and stay safe! I look forward to being back with you on Tuesday morning. Happy crafting.

JanB. xx

Wat een mooie kaart Jan en prachtige kaart model weer. Ik ga eens kijken of ik die met de dieren kan maken. Helaas zie ik dan niet dat je er zo veel variaties in kunnen zijn.

Afternoon Jan. Just watching your video now and I am going to tackle this card as I am confident I can make it. And YES, I do send Valentine’s cards not only to my 6 children and their wives/husbands, but also to my pets too with homemade dehydrated treats. Crazy Lady eh!!! Had to stop your video to write this and say that I am one of “those” people. XX Mal
