Hello, Crafters.
Today I have a new laptop! Although my previous laptop wasn’t very old, I was having problems with my screen. Areas kept going black – sometimes thin strips from side to side and sometimes very wide strips! Hubby had been onto the manufacturers helpdesk and they talked him through some processes designed to sort the problem out. Unfortunately, the problem persisted! As I’ve been getting a lot more than usual aura migraines recently, we both felt that the black areas which kept flashing up on my largely white screen was effectively like having flashing lights in front of me. Hence the new laptop!
As much as I like today’s card, I think it would look better on a 5″ x 7″ card because I would have had more space between the images. Never mind, as I say I am pleased with today’s card. I started by stamping, with the aid of my Stamparatus, four of the flower images and two of the LOVE images because I was hoping to put four together – two top, two bottom – horizontally. I used Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the images and coloured them using Stampin’ Blends as follows: for the letters and the flowers – Dark Highland Heather and for the leaves and stems – Dark Granny Apple Green.sing some repositionable tape I adhered the four images in a square as planned, onto a piece of the small Grid Paper and placed it in the top left-hand corner of my Stamparatus. Once I hand anchored the sheet in place using one of the magnets, I laid the post mark stamp in the centre where all the images meet together! I stamped using the Black Memento Ink. I don’t think you’ll be able to pick up by looking at the images that I stamped the postmark upside-down! This happened because I put the label on the stamp upside down – this is another “first”!!
It was my fault entirely because I assumed the sentiment – SPECIAL DELIVERY – which is on the stamp twice would both be facing the same way, e.g. the bottom of the words would all be facing into the centre. This isn’t the case! If you hold the stamp so the top sentiment reads correctly, the bottom one will also read correctly! Does that make sense? Although the error is visible, because I changed my mind about the layout I doubt if anyone will notice and if they do it’s only a very minor detail!
I took a Whisper White CS top layer and embossed it with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder vertically. Next, I adhered this to a middle layer of Gorgeous Grape CS and then onto a Whisper White CS card base. The images disappeared white on white so I adhered them to layers of Gorgeous Grape CS. Initially I was going to use the HAPPY BIRTHDAY stamp from Posted for You but I was struggling to find a die to cut it out. Normally I would have used the Classic Label Punch. While I was going through my dies, I saw the postage stamp-like die in the Floral Gallery Dies which match the Art Gallery Stamp Set.
When I reached for the stamp set I saw there was a HAPPY BIRTHDAY stamp which was deigned to fit the die! I also layered this sentiment onto a piece of Gorgeous Grape CS. If I hadn’t added these four pieces onto layers the card front wouldn’t have looked so crowded! Using Dimensionals, I adhered all four pieces on the card front. To decorate inside the card I adhered a middle layer of Gorgeous Grape CS on to the Whisper White CS card base. I added a Whisper White CS top layer and adhered a fussy cut flower that I had cut from one of the painted LOVE images. If you’re not into fussy cutting, just adhere the stamp as it is!
To finish the front of the card, I adhered Basic Rhinestone Jewels that had been coloured with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend, inside each of the four flowers that were facing front. Posted for You is a great stamp set! That’s it from me today. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow and in the meantime, please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx

Hi Jan, I love this card. I think it looks proportionally good… not crowded at all.
