Hello, Crafters.
I CASE’d today’s thank you cards from a card shared on my Facebook group – JanB’s Happy Crafters – by fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator Karen Egan. (www.craftykarendesigns.blogspot.com). Karen’s card is square but I’ve used my usual Stampin’ Up! Note Cards & Envelopes which are 3.5″ x 5″. I cut my Flower & Field Designer Series Paper (DSP) to measure 3.25″ x 4.75″ and the Thick Whisper White Cardstock (CS) to 2.5″ x 4″. This DSP is available as a gift from the Sale-a-bration (SAB) brochure.
These cards will be included in packages when I send out new catalogues and when I sell my retired Stampin’ Up! products. As well as my Aladdin’s Cave page here on my website, I have also started advertising them on eBay. Looking on the positive side, I’m hoping I need loads and loads of thank you cards – yes, I’m definitely a glass half-full kind of person!
Anyway, I set my Stamparatus up to stamp the branch, which is from the Very Versailles Stamp Set, and on another plate I set up the THANK YOU stamp to fit in the top left-hand corner – this is also from Very Versailles. I used Shaded Spruce Ink for the leaves and changed the colour for the thank you according to the colour of the punched flowers!
Except I made a mistake with the Rococo Rose CS flowers and used Cherry Cobbler Ink for the sentiment! This happened because I had planned to use Cherry Cobbler CS flowers but decided it was too dark and would look better with Rococo Rose. It’s a minor detail and doesn’t notice!
The DSP designs I have used for my cards are from leftover scraps from other projects which included the gorgeous blue floral design. I was a bit hesitant of using this design because I wasn’t sure how the card would look with Misty Moonlight flowers but I love it! I think it looks great!
The flowers were created with the Confetti Flowers Border Punch which is available as a bundle together with the Field of Flowers Stamp Set. There is a stamp that matches the punch but I didn’t find it particularly easy to line up so I stayed with punching plain cardstock flowers and adding a pearl in the centre of each. I will be practising with the stamped and punched flowers because I think they will look better.
Finally, I would like to say thank you to my customer Jan M. who emailed me with a picture of a red panda! If you saw my post yesterday where I shared the December 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit you will remember that the instruction leaflet said the third animal was a red panda. I said I thought it was a typo because I’d never heard of a red panda before! Jan M included a photograph of a cute red panda and yes it does resemble a possum! Many thanks, Jan!
That’s it from me today. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow and in the meantime, please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.

Morning Jan. Wish I could purchase your retired stamps and dies from you but alas SU does not allow it due to me being in Australia. Love this card and I did see it on Karen’s blog which I subscribe to. Karen has advanced so much. Karen made a masculine pop up card (blue and white check – huge “diamond” effect) a few weeks ago and I would love you to Case it if you don’t mind as I could not get it to work out for me. (I did drop her a comment but have not received a reply). Stay safe, Jan. XX M
Hi, Mal. Yes, Karen does come up with some great cards. I’ll check out (sorry about the pun!) her blue and white check card – I can’t remember seeing one from her like this. Sounds like I’m in for a nice surprise. xx
Thank you Jan. I found the card and I am embarrassed. It wasn’t Karen’s. I am so embarrassed. Here is the link to the card I can not work out. XX Mal
Many thanks, Mal. That explains why I couldn’t find it! LOL! xx
Apologies again, Jan. XX M
No need to apologise, Mal! 💖 xx
