I have something a bit different for you today, i.e. a one sheet wonder. For newer crafters who haven’t come across this before, it’s where you take a sheet of Designer Series Paper (DSP) and make as many cards from it as possible. The sheet of DSP can either be 6″ x 6″ or, like my cards, a 12″ x 12″ sheet.
As you know, I love purples of all shades and the Hydrangea Hill is my absolute favourite at the moment. Normally, a crafter will share a layout of where to make the cuts, the sizes and also the cards that can be made with that layout. The layout I followed produces fourteen cards and although I deviated I also managed fourteen cards.
You shouldn’t have any leftover DSP but I finished up with two pieces which both measured 3.75″ x 1.5″ – they could have made one more card – and a thin strip which measures 0.5″ x 4.5″. I believe the layout was designed to be used with a North American (NA) A2 size card which is 4.25″ x 5.5″. My cards were the Notecards & Envelopes from the catalogue which measure 3.5″ x 5″.
I used the layout I found as a springboard and went on to create some of my own designs. The THANK YOU sentiment is from the Path of Petals and have been stamped using Highland Heather Ink. As I have so many cards to share today, I’m adding notes to individual photographs when I have something to say. 😀
That’s about it from me today. I hope you have enjoyed seeing something different today. Hopefully normal service will be resumed tomorrow! LOL! In the mean time, please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.

These are all amazing Jan. WOW 14 cards! They are simple but elegant at the same time. Got another laptop Jan, so I’m back with you! Be safe & TYFS
Thanks goodness, Claire. I wouldn’t want to lose you! xx
Morning Jan. Wow 14 cards. I have never ventured into the world of One Sheet Wonders but seeing your designs, I will have a go. I do use larger cards – usually 5×7″ rather than the Aussie sizing which is weird – most purchased blanks I find are 4-1/8th x 5-13/16ths (thank goodness I am good with maths and physics!!!). I do like the DSP you have used. Sending you warming wishes as I know you are still in the midst of winter. We have only 4 more days of summer here. XXX Mal
Hi, Mal. Yes, you use A4 cardstock I believe? the size you quote is half a sheet. I also use 4 1/8″ x 5 3/4″ to keep things easy when I’m calculating layers. I also find the very narrow strip I cut off when I want to use cardstock strips instead of ribbon! Yes, spring is just around the corner! xxx
Morning. Funny I dont have any A4 CS yet as I purchased “thousands” of 12×12 sheets from a destash sale and am slowly working my way through them. Will finish that stockpile soon and then will venture into the world of only SU products. I think most of what I purchased was CTMH cardstock which I find cracks very easily. Blessings for a wonderful day. XX M
Hi, Mal. No doubt you’ll get through it all eventually! 😀 xx
Another couple of months and it will all be gone and then I can concentrate on getting SU CS. Have heaps of SU DSP which I love. XX M
I’m sure you’ll be really impressed with the SU cardstock! xx

Love these cards and the fabulous hydrangea paper. Where can I find a template on how to cut the 12 x 12 paper to make the 14 cards in U.S. measurements? Fabulous blog and weekly videos … you are so creative and have great taste. Stay safe and well.
Many thanks, Karen. I followed the link but the website isn’t available any more. I’ll take a photograph of the screenshot I took and post it to my blog. The measurements are very small but I’ll see if I can write them on. I think it was designed by someone in the US so you should find it fits your cards. The person who shared it was someone called Pat (Patricia) but I didn’t see a last name but she goes by the the name of “Jumping to stamping” and I think she did it in 2018. I’ll see if I can find a link for you as well. xx

Thank you for your quick response. I found the template from Jumping to Stamping in her blog post in August 2018. Cannot wait to make the cards!

I too love purples of every kind. I want to make the cards you made. What were the measurements of your cut of the 12 x 12 sheet?
Hi, Robin. As I explained in my blog the One Sheet wonder was designed with NA sized cards but I was using our Notecards & Envelopes which are 3.5″ x 5″. Like you, someone else wanted to see the “template” so I shared it on my blog on Sunday, 28th February, which was my video blog. On the copy I saw online it was very difficult to read some of the sizes so I wrote them on a screenshot I took and then photograph. I’m explaining this so you won’t be too disappointed when you see how “unprofessional” the template looks! At least you will be able to see the sizes clearly! 😀 Enjoy! xx This is the link: https://janbcards.com/2021/02/pop-up-butterflies-video.html PS It’s the last photograph on the blog!
