Happy Sunday, Crafters.
Today’s video shows how to make a card I’m calling a Bridge Span Card. I was inspired by a card I saw which had been made by a lady called Pat Tecza and it was the first time I’ve seen this design. It may well be Pat’s own design. Her blog is ramblinstamper.blogspot.com. It’s very easy to make and I like the idea of a secret message, well, a hidden message I suppose.
My first card, my prototype was the Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper (DSP) card which I think is suitable as a masculine card even though there is some pink in the DSP – do you agree? When I was choosing embellishments I made them in Sahara Sand in order to minimise the pink in favour of the more masculine brown colour.
The card I made just before the video and for the video both used Hydrangea Hill DSP. With my prototype I was able to use a design from the DSP as a top layer inside the card but I had to use cardstock (CS) for the two Hydrangea Hill DSP cards because I didn’t have enough of any fairly plain design in the correct colour.
As it happened, I had one of my blog followers ask me if I would show how I decorate my top layer of cardstock for the inside of a card when it’s going to be used to have a sentiment stamped on it or where the greeting will be written. Not having enough of the right DSP was a great opportunity to include this into today’s video.
I used three stamp sets for today’s video, one which is retiring on 3rd May 2021 and that is You Are Amazing (the HAPPY BIRTHDAY sentiment). The two that aren’t retiring are Celebrate Sunflowers (for the LET’s CELEBRATE YOU SENTIMENT) and Hydrangea Haven (for the flowers that decorated the top layer inside the card).
I recently received the You Are Amazing Stamp Set as a gift from someone. I wished I had noticed it myself much earlier because I love the HAPPY BIRTHDAY sentiment I used for these video cards. Never mind, there are lots more goodies coming in the new Annual Catalogue! That’s it from me today. I wish you a very blessed Sunday and I look forward to being back with you on Tuesday. In the meantime, take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx
