Hello, Crafters.
I hope you had a great weekend. The other day I asked myself why do I always do regular single fold card for my blog? I couldn’t give myself a good reason so I’m planning to change! 😀Today, I’m starting with a card I’ve made for videos before in different ways and I normally – although not always – use Window Sheets (acetate) between the two front cardstock pieces.
There are no hard and fast rules for how wide the gap must be or how far it must be from the top or the bottom of the card base. I used my basic cardstock card sizes which I show at the bottom of my blog each day and cut the bottom strip off at one inch tall. Next I shortened the top part by three-quarters of an inch.
The two Whisper White Cardstock (CS) layers on the card front are a quarter of inch smaller on two adjoining sides. Likewise, the Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper (DSP) are one-eighth of an inch shorter on two adjoining side. Inside the card there’s a regular middle layer of Whisper White CS and a top layer of DSP.
I stamped the image from the Beautiful Moments Stamp Set on a piece of Whisper White CS using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I used Stampin’ Blends to colour the image as follows: dress Light & Dark Rococo Rose, grass Light Granny Apple Green but I changed my mind and I went over it with Dark Mint Macaroon, flowers Dark Melon Mambo, arms Ivory, hair Light Soft Suede, sky Light Pool Party.
I die cut the image using die no 5 from the Stitched Nested Labels and layered it onto a piece of Mint Macaroon CS die cut with die no 6. After adhering the two layers together, I adhered the bottom part of the image onto the narrow from strip. This then made it easy to line up the thin strip in place and glue the top part of the image in place.
After I adhered the two layers for the inside of the card together, I laid them in position inside to colour the the card, closed it and drew a light pencil line in the gap where I wanted HAPPY BIRTHDAY to be stamped. I used my Stamparatus to line up the sentiment which is from the Posted For You Stamp Set. It worked a treat and I adhered the layer in place inside the card.
I took a couple of ready stamped butterflies from the Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set and fussy cut around the edges. Again, I used my Stampin’ Blends to colour the butterflies using Dark Smokey Slate, Light Rococo Rose and Light & Dark Mint Macaroon. I finished my card by painting the dress with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen and adding some white Resin Heart Embellishments. A very pleasing card!
That’s it from me today. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow and in the meantime, please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
