Hello, Crafters.
Every time I have used the Inspiring Iris Stamp Set I’ve been pleased with the result except when I used it as two-step stamping. Like today’s card, it was a relaxing pleasure to colour it using Stampin’ Blends as follows: flower heads Dark Purple Posy; flower centres Dark Daffodil Delight; stems Dark Granny Apple Green. As usual I used my Stamparatus to stamp the image using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock (CS).
To die-cut the image I used the number 6 straight cut oval die from the Layering Ovals Dies and layered it onto a Purple Posy CS scalloped oval die-cut with the number 6 scallop oval die. The sentiment WISHING YOU THE BEST is from the stamp set and has been die-cut with the number 1 straight cut oval die from the Layering Ovals Dies and layered onto a Purple Posy CS scalloped oval die-cut with the number 1 scallop oval die.
To create my top layer I took a Whisper White CS top layer and embossed it using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder and then cut it in half lengthways – one half will be saved for another project. Next I took a piece of Purple Posy Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the 2019 – 2021 DSP 6″ x 6″ Pack and cut it to half the size of a top layer. I adhered the two pieces side by side on a Whisper White CS middle layer.
I used a piece of the Purple Posy Scalloped Linen Ribbon around the join and adhered each end at the back of the cardstock. As this is a fairly thick ribbon and I didn’t want to pop the layer on Dimensionals, I cut two strips of Whisper White CS the same length as a middle layer but slightly more narrow so I could adhere them both on the back of the middle layer leaving a quarter inch gap between them, thereby leaving a channel for the ribbon ends to sit in.
I adhere this onto a card base of Purple Posy CS. Inside the card I added a middle layer of Whisper White CS. Before I added the top Purple Posy CS layer, I stamped the iris image in the bottom right-hand corner using Purple Posy Ink. I stamped a second image next to the first but lower.
I finished my card by adding three Basic Pearl Jewels that I painted using the Dark Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend. As I’ve been writing today’s blog, I kept thinking that maybe I have already used this image to make this same card! I used the search box on my blog and I found I have used this image for four cards and they are all very different, even the colour of the flowers! Previously I’ve used Gorgeous Grape, Pool Party, Lovely Lipstick and Flirty Flamingo!! Phew!!
That’s it from me today. I hope you have a great Saturday and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow with my Sunday video! In the meantime, take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx
