Hello, Crafters.
To create today’s card I used the same stamp set and the same baby wipes that I used for yesterday’s card. The colours have become very muted since yesterday but the three colours still blend well together. Green is still the dominant colour, purple is still quite visible and there’s very little evidence of any blue!
The stamp set I used is Lovely You but the sentiment THANK YOU is from Borders Abound Stamp Set. I don’t really like sentiments that start with small letters – I think they should be capitals! – but I love the font. With yesterday’s card I learned to stamp the sentiment in one of the main colours, and not to use the baby wipes.
I took a top layer of Whisper White Cardstock (CS) and used temporary adhesive to adhere a one inch wide piece of scrap paper across the front of my cardstock about an inch down from the top. Using the same stamps that I used yesterday, I stamped above and below the inch wide scrap. I added a few of the single flowerhead on its own, i.e. not touching my scrap of paper.
When I decided I had stamped enough images, I removed the scrap of paper and was very pleased with the result. I cut a one inch strip of Granny Apple Green CS which was the width of my top layer. I then took a piece of 7/8″ strip Whisper White CS which was the same width as my strip of Granny Apple Green CS. I set my Stamparatus up for the sentiment which made sure I was able to get it straight! It also let me stamp it three or four times to make sure I had the depth of Granny Apple Green dark enough.
I adhered the strips together and then I adhered them in the gap between my two lines of stamping! I adhered my top layer card front onto a middle layer of Granny Apple Green CS and then onto a Whisper White card base. I took another Whisper White top layer and stamped one image of the three leaves and the two images of the single flower in the bottom right hand corner. I adhered the top layer on to a middle layer of Granny Apple Green CS and then on to the card base on the inside of the card.
I decided to embellish the front of my card using some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots. After placing one inside each of the individual flower heads, I added one either end of the THANK YOU. As you can see there’s been a big change in the depth of colour on my baby wipes but the ink is still very moist and still stamps well. Maybe I’ll visit it again in about a week’s time!! That’s it from me today. Hopefully the problems with my site not emailing notifications will be sorted out by the time my blog goes live at 7 am GMT today! I look forward to being back with you tomorrow and in the meantime please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
