Hello, Crafters.
This is the second time I’m writing today’s blog!! I had just finished writing yesterday and started to add the photographs but there was a problem! Long story short………….my blog disappeared!!! So here goes again!
When I treated myself on my last order to the Gorgeous Posies Stamp Set I used for yesterday’s card, I also bought the Suite Sampler Host Stamp Set. It has one image from several of the current suites and I chose to use the hydrangea image for today’s card. Using my Stamparatus I stamped the image using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. To colour it I used Dark Just Jade and Light Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blends.
To fill the white space I use to spotty stamp from the Gorgeous Posies Stamp Set and Sahara Sand Ink stamped off once. I die-cut the image using the no 3 die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I left enough space at the bottom to stamp a sentiment and I chose HAPPY BIRTHDAY from the Woodland Wonder Stamp Set.
I set it up in my Stamparatus and stamped using Misty Moonlight Ink. Next I adhered it to a layer of Just Jade Cardstock (CS) which I’d die-cut using die no 4 from the same set. My next layer was a design from the Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper (DSP) and I die-cut it using die no 7, again from the same set. Finally I adhered these layers onto a Whisper White CS layer that I’d die-cut using the number 8 die.
If I had adhered this to my regular card base, I would have wider gaps top and bottom and very narrow gaps on both sides. I did some calculations and decided I needed my card height to be 5 1/2″ instead of the usual 5 3/4″. I made a card base and adhered my layers on top and I was really pleased with how it looks! It does mean that the regular envelope is a bit on the big side but I can live with that.
For the inside of my card I die-cut another Whisper White CS layer the same size as the front of the card. For the top layer I decided to use Pool Party CS as it’s a similar colour to the DSP on the front of the card. Before I adhered it onto the Whisper White CS layer, I cleaned the stamp and stamped on the Pool Party CS layer using Pool Party Ink stamped off once.
I adhered the two layers inside my card and was very pleased with how it looked. I went back to the front of the card and painted the hydrangea and the leaves using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pan. My final touch was to add a tiny pearl in the centre of all the small individual flowers. Although the card is not a regular size, I’m very pleased how it has turned out!
That’s it from me today. I hope you have a great weekend. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow and in the meantime please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx

Morning Jan. Just heading out the door to Search and Rescue dog training with Maddi but just needed to tell you that I am loving how you are doing the inside of your cards at the moment. I imagine that the inside is done with second generation stamping (or maybe even third). I have never tried this aspect of cardmaking. I have not even seen it done so any advice on how you stamped it would be appreciated. XX Mal
Hi, Mal. I hope training went well. I’ll see if I can incorporate it with one of my videos. xx
Thanks Jan. I am becoming so confident in my crafting that i am devouring new techniques/actions. Thank you fot inspiring me to achieve way way beyond my abilities. Xxxx m
Hi, Mal. I’m so pleased you have made such progress but they aren’t beyond your capabilities; rather, they are beyond what you thought your capabilities were! xx
Thank you Jan for your lovely comment. You are correct in that I was not a confident stamper until just recently. The only thing I am really and truly confident in are my animals. Bless you Jan for spiking my abilities and my confidence levels. XXX M
