Hello, Crafters.
My email notifications are working again but Catherine thinks they may have sorted themselves out because we haven’t been notified by the host that they’ve fixed it! I don’t mind why they’re working again as long as they keep on working!!
Another Butterfly Brilliance Birthday Card! Will I ever get bored with this set?? You may remember yesterday I said I didn’t decorate the inside of yesterday’s card because I couldn’t think what to do? I had the same thought about today’s card but I’ve come to the conclusion it’s because I’d like to put another butterfly inside the card but all the stamped images in the Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set are too big! I’ve decided to check my other butterfly stamp sets and find a butterfly that will blend in. Watch this space!
I started this card because I wanted to use the Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper (DSP) design that’s a Mint Macaroon background with lighter and darker butterflies all over, interspersed with Misty Moonlight butterflies. On the sheet of DSP it looks like a purple colour! I found three stamped images of the smallest butterfly in my stash and painted them in a selection of Stampin’ Blends which included: Light and Dark Mint Macaroon, Light Just Jade, Light Bermuda Bay and Light Misty Moonlight. As always I used Dark Smokey Slate for the body.
I decided to cut off the white edges around the butterflies to make them smaller but I left a small edge all around the antenna. As I didn’t like the starkness of the white showing I painted the area using my Light Smokey Slate Stampin’ Blend. I started to build my card with a top layer of my chosen design of DSP, a middle layer of Whisper White Cardstock (CS), and a Misty Moonlight CS card base. Inside the card I added a middle layer of Whisper White CS and a top layer of Pool Party CS.
I took a strip of Pool Party CS that was 2 1/8″ wide and the same length as my top layer and embossed it using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. Next I adhered it to a strip of Whisper White CS that was 2 1/4″ wide and finally onto a strip of Misty Moonlight CS that measured 2 3/8″ wide. After I had adhered all three layers together I adhered it towards the left-hand side on the front of the card. Finally, I adhered all three butterflies evenly down the strip using short strips cut from a Foam Adhesive Sheet.
All the time I was working on this card I had the thought in my mind whether I’d add a sentiment or not. Once the butterflies were in place I decided a small sentiment would finish the card off nicely. I chose HAPPY BIRTHDAY from the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set because it’s small and I love the font. In fact the only thing wrong with it is that thank should be started with a capital T – in my mind it should!! It fitted in the Classic Label Punch beautifully.
Before I adhered the sentiment in place I punched a couple of Whisper White CS strips which I cut in half and then shortened. I used them to go under the end of the sentiment to prop it up to the same height that the front of the sentiment would be – a great tip I picked up from Kristie Marcotte! I couldn’t decide on what bling to use to finish off my card so I decided to paint all three butterflies using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen. By the way, I stamped the sentiment using Misty Moonlight Ink. I think I’ve now remembered everything!
That’s it from me today. I look forward to being back with you tomorrow and in the meantime Please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.

I think you’ve reached new heights in butterfly posing. As I looked at your card I couldn’t help but think how they look like the real butterflies I see landing on flowers. It doesn’t take much imagination to see their antennae moving or a wing moving. This is a very pretty card.
Many thanks, Lisa. I’m so enjoying this new bundle. There are just so many ways it can be used! xx
Another beautiful card. Loving those butterflies.
Many thanks, Maddalena. Me, too! I’m absolutely bowled over by this bundle! xx
