Hello, Crafters.
While I’m really pleased to say that my son-in-law Leigh is recovering very well from Covid, not surprisingly Vicki has gone down with it and Molly has been confirmed as positive, too! Please pray for God’s continued protection and healing hands on them all.
NEW Christmas Mini Catalogue PAPER SHARE
I have been asked if I’m going to do a Paper Share when the NEW Christmas Mini Catalogue goes live on 3rd August 2021. I’m pleased to say YES! The total list of papers in the new catalogue includes 5 packs of Designer Series Papers, 3 packs of Specialty Designer Series Papers, 3 packs of Foils/Brushed Metallic Sheets, 1 pack Glitter Paper, 1 pack of Cork Paper, 1 pack Gold Shimmer Vellum, 2 packs of Velvet Paper, 1 pack of Kraft Paper. Five of these packs are returning favourites from last year.
If you join my Paper Share you will receive a quarter of all of these packs which is a total of 124 sheets of 6”x6” papers PLUS I have also included the Wonderful Snowflakes and the Gold Holly Leaves in the Paper Share so I can also offer you the choice of a level-one Sale-a-bration gift! Yes, your choice! (You can also choose to buy two shares if you’d like to).
The big advantage of joining a Paper Share is that it gives you the opportunity to have a bit of everything without having to buy a full pack and the bonus of this paper share is that I’ve designed it so you can also choose a free Sale-a-bration gift! If you bought full packs of ALL of the papers listed, plus the snowflakes and gold leaves, it would cost you a whopping £173.75 plus £4.95 delivery! The cost of buying one Paper Share is £48.00 including P&P in the UK and £52.00 in Europe.

Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper – Four Cards
I have four cards to share with you today featuring the Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Artistic Dies. My cards were inspired by something Rachel Tessman, US Demonstrator shared on Pinterest. She took one of the sheets of the DSP which had a green and gold design across the centre of the 12″ x 12″ sheet – it’s the sheet with an all-over mottled green design on the reverse.
I could see that Rachel cut the sheet into six top layers but I didn’t check her website to see where she started and where she finished, so what I did may vary from Rachel’s idea. My first step was to cut six pieces that each measured 3¾” x 5 3/8”. I did this by keeping the green patterned band horizontal, and cut three strips (white, green, white) that measured 3¾” wide. Next, I took each strip and cut the first 5 3/8″ starting at the white edge. Then I turned the DSP 180° and cut the second piece 5 3/8″ starting from the white edge.
Using some Gold Foil, I die-cut the leafy image and the floral arrangement. I adhered each one on a top DSP layer making sure I had one with the green at the top and one with green at the bottom. I used my Silicone Craft Mat, Tombow Glue and a Dauber to add the glue to the back of the leaves. This idea works well as long as the image doesn’t move. If it does, the front of the image gets covered in glue as well!
After I had squeezed a sizable amount of Tombow onto my Silicone Craft Sheet, I used the Dauber to pick up some glue, then I dabbed it on the mat to make sure there wasn’t too much glue. I held each leaf down as I spread the glue and stopped any bouncing. However it became more difficult as I worked my way down, closer to the stem and eventually ended up with glue on the front of the foil. Fortunately it was only a small amount and I was able to clean it off using a baby wipe.
On the floral card I stamped the HAPPY BIRTHDAY sentiment from the Blossoms in Bloom Stamp Set using Versamark and then heat embossed using Gold Embossing Powder. Although the result is OK, it wasn’t as good as it normally is because the temperature here in the UK is very high and I think the Versamark dried a lot quicker than normal.
For the second card I used the BIRTHDAY WISHES stamp from the Garden Birdhouses Stamp Set and used some retired Gold Delicata Ink. Again the result wasn’t brilliant because my ink pad needed re-inking! But it’s OK! The butterfly on the leafy card is from the Brilliant Wings Dies and I used two of the Bumblebee Trinkets on the floral card.
I repeated the process on a sheet of the pink design which has three strips of patterns across the 12″ x 12″ sheet, i.e. one top, one bottom and one in the middle! On the reverse of this sheet there is an orange and pink design across the centre with white top and bottom. Using Polished Pink Cardstock, I die-cut the leafy and the floral images. This time I applied Tombow directly onto the back of the die-cuts and adhered them in place. This is definitely my preferred method of gluing!
After I had re-inked my Delicata ink pad, I stamped the same sentiment as the green leafy card and finished off by adding a Polished Pink CS butterfly. After I had adhered the floral image to the second card I couldn’t decide about a sentiment so I didn’t do one. I’ll have another look at it later today and have a rethink!
That’s it for today. Don’t forget to email me if you’re interested in the Paper Share and I’ll be pleased to add your name to the list. In the meantime, take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx

Goedemorgen Jan,
Wat een prachtige kaart heb je gemaakt. Persoonlijk vind ik de bovenste het mooiste. Ik Hou niet zo van rosé
Fijne dag gewenst
Groetjes
Manon
Heel erg bedankt, Manon. Ik ben het met je eens. Ik geef de voorkeur aan de groene kaart omdat er meer wit is. De roze kaart heeft teveel op de achtergrond en maakt de kaart druk! xx
Really Beautiful Jan xxx
Many thanks, Carmen. xx
This really is gorgeous paper – I discovered it just this morning while selecting DSP from those on July special…
YES, I would be interested in your DSP share special offer but sadly am not a UK/Europe resident…. Boo Hoo…
As always I love your beautiful designs, meticulous instructions, and generous sharing…. Thank you!
I know, Billie – it’s so frustrating but it is what it is! I’m glad you like today’s easy cards – not something I do often! xx
I love these cards, Jan. The gold outlines with the beautiful backgrounds is inspiring. I’m. so sorry about your family having the Covid. I wonder if this disease will ever go away. That new Delta variant is all over the states. Had they had the vaccine? I hope you will be safe, Take care of yourself. Love, Sheron
Many thank, Sheron. My son-in-law Leigh has had two jabs; Molly hasn’t because she’s 17 but will do as soon as they are available to the under-18’s; Vicki no, because of her health problems. She has asthma, she’s coeliac and has anaphylaxis for which she has to carry an Epipen with her wherever she goes. For the last 20 years or so, Vicki has turned to homeopathy which has worked for her brilliantly. Today is day 4 and she’s doing very well. Hubby and I went over to her “doctor” yesterday evening to collect a new remedy which should be a big help with breaking down the cough. I am so grateful we all have total faith in God. I know he is watching over her and will keep her safe. 🙏🏻 💖xxx
