Hello, Crafters.
When I first saw the Pierced Blooms Dies in last year’s Annual Catalogue I really didn’t like them. A few weeks ago I received a fabulous thank you card from a customer which she had case’d from UK demonstrator Julie Kettlewell. There is a matching stamp set called In Bloom which I decided not to buy. For me these dies work brilliantly as stand-alone dies.
Talking about stand alone dies, did you notice the Stitched Greenery stand-alone die which is available in the new Annual Catalogue (155451 page 165)?I used it to create the background for today’s card. One of the great features of this die is that it measures 4¾” x 6” which makes it suitable whether you use A4 size cardstock or letter-size!
While I’m talking about stand alone dies there are two other sets I have bought but haven’t used yet. Another beautiful die is the Flower Market (155556 page 163). Unfortunately, this hasn’t been sized to be A4 cardstock friendly. I will have a play with it soon and come back to let you know how easy it is to work it with A4 cardstock.
The third set I have, which I had totally overlooked, is the Iconic Dies (155965 page 163). There are quite a lot of stand-alone dies in the catalogue and the easiest was to fine them is to go through pages 162 – 166. if you read the bottom line of each set of dies it will either say “Co-ordinates with…..” or “See these dies in use……….”.
Back to today’s card! I’ve used Fresh Freesia Cardstock (CS), Basic White CS and Soft Sea Foam CS. The top and middle layers are my regular sizes. I used the no 4 regular die in the Stitched Rectangles dies and adhered it to a layer of Fresh Freesia CS that measures 2 3/8″ x 3 11/16″. I decided to adhered the centre panel to the top layer and then popped the flowers and leaves up on Dimensionals.
The sentiment HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS TO YOU is from the stamp set called All Squared Away. I used my Stamparatus and Fresh Freesia Ink on the Basic White CS die-cut rectangle. As I had quite a lot of white space left after stamping the sentiment, I decided to add two of the Bumblebee Trinkets”.
To finish off the front of my card I added three Basic Rhinestone Jewels that I had painted using the Dark Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blend. Inside the card I added a middle layer of Fresh Freesia CS and a top layer of Basic White CS. I decorated it by adding one of the smaller flowers seen in the bottom right-hand corner on the front of the card in plus a pair of leaves.
I have a couple of reminders before I go. First is the Designer Series Paper Sale which has now started and goes on to the 2nd July. Watch which one you use the most and top up before the end of the month because it will still be a current design until 2nd May 2022.
Second is that the Create With Us third PDF is available to buy. It includes 15 projects using the Sweet as a Peach Bundle. Please check it out HERE.
I’ll try and pop back tomorrow with the card I should have photographed and shared with you today! DOH!! 😀 Take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx
