Hello, Crafters.
My video last week was very well received and I was asked if it could be adjusted to hold a gift card. The answer is yes but it wasn’t ideal. When I saw today’s card on YouTube which is similar I knew it would be ideal to adapt for a gift card. The first card I made was a masculine birthday card for grandson who was eighteen a few weeks ago – I don’t remember ever being this late with somebody’s birthday card!
Most of the products I used to create this card are current with the exception of the letter and number dies, as well as the congrats die. When Stampin’ Up! retire products, I always keep the letter and number dies, word dies, and layering dies of all shapes and sizes. Ben’s birthday card proves why it’s a good idea to keep them!
The second card I made was a Christmas card but doesn’t hold a gift card. I used some Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper (DSP) that has been brought forward from last year because the colours go very well with the Gingerbread & Peppermint 6″ x 6″ DSP. This pack includes 5 designs of gingerbread snowflakes, bells, stars, baubles, Christmas trees and mittens.
There are dies for the bell, star, bauble and snowflake but the mittens and the Christmas trees have to be fussy-cut. There is also a sheet that has much smaller images all of which have to be fussy cut unless you choose to use the sheet as DSP. The images on this sheet are baubles, bells and snowflakes. I was happy fussy cutting the trees and mittens but found the smaller images a bit of a challenge.
Also included in the set of Gingerbread dies is a selection of different sized circles that die-cut the various circles on sheets of the Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP. The matching stamp set has stamps for the snowflake, bell and bauble and the die-set include four dies for intricate images of a bell, a bauble, a snowflake and star.
Like last week’s card, today’s card is also versatile as shown in the landscape birthday card, vertical Christmas card and card with a pocket for a gift card. For the video card I used various designs from the Peaceful Place DSP and images from the Be Jolly Stamp Set which I had left over from last week which I had stamped, painted and fussy cut!
I wanted to include some humour in this card which took the form of Father Christmas falling down the chimney. To create the chimney I took a piece of Bloom Where You’re Planted DSP – the Cinnamon Cider brickwork design – and a short half inch wide strip of Cinnamon Cider Cardstock. Then I used half a Father Christmas and adhered him upside down falling down the chimney!
I hope you enjoy today’s video. It has certainly been a pleasure working on it! That’s it from me today. I look forward to seeing you again soon. In the meantime, please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
