I have another great fun fold card video for you today which I first saw made by Shrusti Patel. When I started checking YouTube I found more videos showing how to make this card and I followed the one made by the Paper Pixie. One of the changes I made was to add a belly band to keep the card closed. I made two cards with narrow bands and two with wide bands because I couldn’t decide which I like best!
I also added finger notches to each of the three cards inside the pockets to make it obvious to the recipient that the cards were removable. When I made my first card prototype I found it didn’t fold in half properly and I assumed I’d scored it in the wrong place. It happened with my second card as well and I decided I couldn’t have made the same mistake twice! Or could I?
When I cut my third piece of Basic White Cardstock I checked to make sure the 8¼” side of my A4 sheet of cardstock did actually measure 8¼”! It was quite a bit over, so I trimmed it down to the correct size and my card worked out beautifully. If you find this happens to you i.e. one side of your card is longer than the other when it’s folded in half, just slice off the excess amount.
When I made the video card, I chose to use the Gingerbread & Peppermint 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. This didn’t allow me to cut a piece of DSP that was 9 3/8″ long for the belly band so I demonstrated how to decorate the band using 6″ x 6″ DSP during the video. For my card the measurement for the DSP was a tad short so I’ve added an extra 1/8″ in the measurements in the box below the video as I said during the video I would.
During the video I started talking about an early release product that will be available to customers on 1st November 2021. I was distracted as I was talking and didn’t get round to finish off what I was saying! LOL! The bundle is called Eden’s Garden and will be available in the Spring/Summer Mini Catalogue which will go live in January 2022!
The products are currently on pre-order for demonstrators so we can see and play with the products before promoting them to our customers. The bundle consists of the Eden’s Garden Cling Stamp Set and the Eden Dies. There will also be Ever Eden 12″ x 12″ Specialty DSP, Ever Eden 12″ x 12″ Cotton Paper and Garden Gems.
All of these items should be available as a Collection but the gems are not currently available! Hopefully they will be by 1st November 2021. Anyway, my conversation should have gone on to say that I would be offering a Paper Share of the two papers because they will only be available for two months while stocks last! Just in case you wonder what I would have said had I not made a boo boo in the video and lost my thread! 🤣
That’s it from me today. I hope you have a very blessed and relaxed Sunday. I look forward to being back with you soon and in the meantime, please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
