Hello Crafters.
I hope you saw the post I shared yesterday about the Biggest Stamp Sale this Year promotion that is running for just 24 hours. By the time you are reading this I think the sale will have started worldwide. This is the link for the details of yesterday’s post: BIGGEST STAMP SALE THIS YEAR – 24 HOURS ONLY. Please check it out so you don’t miss out. If you’re in the South Pacific or North American markets contact your demonstrator to find out the details for your region!
Yesterday I was working on my card for this month’s Create with Us PDF Tutorial. The bundle we’re using is the Painted Christmas Suite. I’m very happy with my finished card and today I’ll be writing up the step-by-step instructions as well as photographing my card. I made two similar cards and asked hubby to choose which one he thought looks best. I’ll probably share the second card on my step-by-step instructions but with just brief additional instructions after the main step-by-step instructions – a little extra from me!
The PDF will be free to my customers who place a qualifying order during October i.e. £45/60€ which will be easy to achieve with today’s Stamp Sale! It is also free to members of my team! Today is a great time to join because if you choose stamp sets that are in today’s sale for your Starter Kit, you’ll get even better value for your £99/129€ joining fee! If you live in the UK, the Netherlands, France, Germany or Austria I’d love to have you join my team: https://ida.stampinup.com/en-gb/?demoid=5004169. If you can’t join my team or you can’t place a qualifying order, you will be able to purchase the Tutorial PDF via my Tutorial Shop in November 2021. In the meantime, if you’d like to purchase any of our previous Tutorial PDF’s – the October PDF features the Penguin Place Bundle – check them out here: Tutorial Shop – JanB Cards.
Let’s get back today’s card! When I was ready to start a card to share with you today, I felt I wanted to do some colouring and there was one image that I keep looking at knowing that one day I’d be colouring it! Yesterday was the day! When I had been designing my Create with Us card yesterday I had decided to use our Shimmery White Cardstock (CS) which I used to use a lot! After stamping the image from the Words of Cheer Stamp Set using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, I chose Stampin’ Blends, Light and Dark, in Real Read, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow. It isn’t often I do shading when I’m colouring but I was in the right mood for it. For the small leaved sprigs I used Old Olive, Mossy Meadow for the holly leaves, Real Red for the poinsettias and Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen for the berries – I assume they are mistletoe berries.
The sparkle on the berries was looking good so I used the Wink of Stella to paint around the edges of the flower petals, the holly leaves and the small leaves. The matching dies for this stamp set are called Christmas Cheer and I die-cut the image. I thought it looked a little bit harsh so I went around all the white spaces with my Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend. At a glance it looks as if I coloured the spaces solidly but a close look and you’ll see otherwise! For the sentiment, I die-cut the word HAPPY three times using Pool Party CS. I adhered all three together and then painted the top one with Wink of Stella. Next, I adhered it to the top of my top Shimmery White CS layer. Using Pool Party Ink I stamped CHRISTMAS underneath the HA of the word happy.
Next I adhered the image in the bottom right-hand corner using Dimensionals. To add some more bling, I used some red and clear Wonderful Gems. I decided to stop at that point and put my card together! I started with a Shimmery White CS card base, two middle layers of Pool Party CS and two top layers of Shimmery White CS. To decorate the inside of the card I die-cut some holly leaves in Old Olive CS and some berries in Real Red CS. I think the inside of my card will look better if I add the same die-cuts in all four corners. Fortunately, I did cut several leaves and berries when I was preparing the ones I used, so it won’t take me a couple of minutes to add the others. It was only when I was photographing the inside of the card that I thought they were too small to be on their own! 😀
Hubby and I have decided that we want to start doing craft shows again next year! The last one we did was about four years ago and we always had fun doing them. I am now planning what papercraft products I can make to sell. Do you do craft shows and would you like me to share my projects with you? Please let me know! That’s about it from me today. I look forward to being back with you soon and in the meantime, please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx
