Hello, Crafters.
At long last! The NEW Spring/Summer 2022 Mini Catalogue went live yesterday, which was also the start of the first Sale-a-bration event in 2022! This is the first new catalogue launch where I have offered a Paper Share, a Ribbon Share and a Gems Share in respect of the new products now available. The beauty of shares is that they give crafters the opportunity to buy a quarter of all these products at a quarter of the full price! My Shares Promotion is still open – if you’d like the details, please email me at janb@janbcards.com.
The products I chose to create today’s card with are the Friendly Hello Stamp Set and the Friendly Hello Designer Series Paper (DSP) which are available together as a level two Sale-a-bration (SAB) gift. Level two gifts are available for qualifying orders of £90/120€ and level one gifts are available for qualifying orders of £45/60€. The designs in this pack of DSP are superb – have a close look at the photograph of this pack on page 12 in the SAB Brochure.
My card was inspired by one of the sample cards in the SAB Brochure on page 13 – the card in the middle of the bottom row. The DSP used in the sample card is another fabulous design from the DSP pack! Using my Stamparatus, I put a Basic White Cardstock (CS) rectangle that I had die-cut using the Stitched Rectangle dies, die no 5, into position on my Small Grid Paper. I arranged the three stamps I wanted to use into position making sure I left enough space in the bottom left hand corner so I could adhere a bow!
I closed my plate down to pick up the stamps which I then inked up using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. After stamping a great image, I removed it from my Stamparatus and I selected the Stampin’ Blends I wanted to use. For the bird I used Light & Dark Crumb Cake; the flowers Light & Dark Pool Party; Dark Daffodil Delight for the flower centres; Light Soft Suede for the branch (I should have used Dark but I decided to leave well alone!); Dark Granny Apple Green for the leaves. I used the speckled stamp with Sahara Sand Ink to fill in the larges expanses of blank white.
I started my card with a card base of Pool Party CS, with middle layers, inside and out, of Basic White CS and for the front of the card a top layer of Friendly Hello DSP in Pool Party and white. After I had adhered the image on to a Pool Party CS rectangle that I had die-cut using the Stitched Rectangle dies die no 6, I adhered it in the centre of the card front using Dimensionals.
I used my bowmaker to make a double bow using some Pool Party ⅜” Sheer Ribbon (152462) and adhered it using Glue Dots and Tombow in the bottom left-hand corner as previously planned. For the bird’s eye, I used one of the smallest size black Classic Matte Dots (158146). For the centre of the flowers I used some gold gems (sorry, I’ve forgotten their name!). If you don’t have any yellow gems, you can use some clear gems you have in your stash and paint them using a yellow Blend.
To decorate the inside of the card, I took a top layer of Pool Party CS and the small flower stamp I’d used for the image on the front of my card. Using Pool Party Ink I stamped three flowers on the left-hand side and three on the right-hand side. I’m happy how this card turned out and I’m looking forward to using some of the other designs of the DSP pack, especially the Fresh Freesia, Petal Pink, Granny Apple Green and Pool Party designs! 😀
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s blog. I look forward to being back with you soon and in the meantime please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx
