Hello, Crafters.
Today’s video is my spin on another video I saw by Iced Images. I haven’t changed much and I have omitted one feature which was an acetate band that was added to the front of the card. Please check out the Iced Images video here. The only change I made was to build my card on a 7″ x 5″ single fold card instead of a single sheet of 7″ x 5″ cardstock. I know a lot of crafters like to have a “proper” place to write their greeting and I totally get it – I’m the same! LOL! Iced Images has designed the card so it will stand up perfectly well on its own so it isn’t necessary to have it on a single-fold card. I have provided instructions for both options.
At the start of the video, I show my prototype (masculine) card first because at that stage it was my favourite. Next I shared my Pale Papaya “before video” card which I felt looked unfinished! The photographs you see here are what the card looks like now, after I had added some greenery – much better! I prepared everything to make my video card the same as the Pale Papaya card but I planned to re-arrange the images and sentiment. The Fresh Freesia card became my joint favourite card with the masculine card! I have put all the products I used for the video card in the box below the video and below my signature here on my blog, I’m explaining here on my blog which products I used for my other two cards.
I created my masculine card using my favourite masculine stamp set, called Sailing Home. There were two reasons for choosing to use Pacific Point for this card. Firstly, I think it’s a great colour but I very rarely ever use it! Secondly, there is a new set of Designer Series Paper (DSP) which is available while stocks last, that goes brilliantly with Pacific Point. I did take time out during the video to show each design in this pack. The designs were created by one of the Stampin’ Up! concept artists who simply poured acrylic paint onto paper and then photographed it!
Bear with me while I digress! The DSP is called Waves of the Ocean and is 12″ x 12″. It is part of a special offering at the moment which includes the Waves of Inspiration Stamp Set and Waves Dies. Both these products will be available in the new Annual Catalogue which will go live in May 2022. As well as the DSP, there are two more products available while stocks last. They are Blue Foils 12″ x 12″ Specialty Paper and Waves Rhinestone Basic Jewels. The pack of Foils contain six sheets: two each of three colours which are Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy and Silver. There are 168 Rhinestones in the pack and contain three different sizes in three different colours i.e. Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy and Pacific Point!
Back to my card. The Waves of the Ocean DSP is absolutely brilliant for sea scenes and I chose three different designs for my card so I had light, medium and dark! I used my Stamparatus to stamp two each of both yachts and the lighthouse using Night of Navy Ink. In my leftovers I found an anchor which had also been stamped in the same colour. It isn’t often I use two sentiments on the front of my cards but this card layout is ideal. I chose the HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS TO YOU and the THE BEST THING ABOUT TODAY IS YOU – both sentiments are from the All Squared Away Stamp Set. After I stamped both sentiments using Night of Navy Ink, I die cut them using the no. 2 fancy die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I adhered all the images on the front of the card using Dimensionals and I adhered the second lighthouse inside the card in the bottom right hand corner. I finished the front adhering some Faux Sea Glass Shapes on both sentiments. I don’t know about you but I’m happy using these gems on a masculine card but I wouldn’t add rhinestones nor pearls! How about you?
The Pale Papaya card uses the same products as the Fresh Freesia video card but arranged differently! There are designs from three packs of DSP: the back panel is from Heart & Home; the book is from Blackberry Beauty and the book support is from Artfully Composed. Colour co-ordination was one of the biggest things that attracted me to Stampin’ Up! but I still find it amazing that I can choose designs from three different packs of DSP and they still work together brilliantly! I used Cinnamon Cider Ink to stamp the sentiments and I die-cut them as before. This is the card that originally, I didn’t think it looked finished! Since then I added the green leaves I found in my Garden Green leftovers bag!
When I posted my blog last week, I told you about the latest kit Stampin’ Up! has released. I don’t normally buy kits but the Celebrate Today Magnet Board Kit (159335) is absolutely gorgeous and I had to order it! It’s a home décor idea and comes with two double-sided 12″ x 12″ sheets of DSP but you can change these over with any 12″ x 12″ sheets you have that will fit in best with your home. I know the kit is selling very well in Europe so if you’re interested in buying one, please don’t leave it too long!
That’s it from me today. I hope you enjoy this week’s video and give it a try. 😀 I hope you have a very blessed Sunday. Take care and stay safe! Happy crafting!
