Hello, Crafters.
I have another Easter card today which I have made using the smaller of two fabulous images in the Blessings of Home Stamp Set. I set up my Stamparatus to make sure I produced a good clear image. The details in the two images is absolutely gorgeous! It won’t be long before I make a card using the larger image in this set. It comes as a bundle with a set of dies called Flowers of Home.
After I had stamped the image, I tested some colours of my Stampin’ Blends to see what colours I wanted to use. My original idea was to use some Heart & Home Designer Series Paper (DSP) and chose a piece which dictated the colour of my flowers as Pale Papaya. In the absence of Garden Green Blends I chose Evening Evergreen. I wasn’t very confident that I’d made the right choice but it worked out well!
As you know, I’m not much of a colourer but get by with my quick and dirty way of colouring! I was happy how the image looked once I had coloured it and it really popped after I’d painted over it with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen. After I had die-cut the image with my no 7 straight cut die from the Layering Oval Dies – unfortunately, these are now retired! – I decided to layer it on a Pale Papaya Cardstock (CS) straight cut oval using the size no 8 die.
I also stamped a partial image in the bottom right hand corner of a top Basic White CS layer that was for the inside of my card. All the colouring details were the same as on the front of the card including the Wink of Stella. I took a middle layer of Pale Papaya CS and adhered the decorated top Basic White CS layer on to it. Next, I adhered them to the inside of the card base.
Instead of using DSP I decided to emboss the top Basic White CS layer with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. Once I had adhered it to a Pale Papaya middle layer I decided to tie a piece of Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon around the layers and to tie it in a bow which I positioned on the right-hand side. I nearly always line my images and sentiments up straight but not this time!
I rested the image over the ribbon and picked up the die that I would be using for the sentiment and rested that in position, too. After playing with different arrangements I chose the layout I wanted and put the ribbon in position. I adhered this layer to my card front making sure I put some Tombow on the ribbon to stop it from going walkabouts! Next I stamped the EASTER BLESSINGS sentiment using my Stamparatus. The sentiment is from the Daffodil Daydream Stamp Set.
I used a die from the Hippo & Friends dies to die-cut the sentiment and then I cut a piece of Pale Papaya CS that measured 2″ x 1″ to layer the sentiment on to. I cut the four corners off at angles to follow the outline of the die-cut. I used Dimensionals to adhere the image and the sentiment to the card front. I finished the front off with two Bumble Trinkets and four Champagne Rhinestones.
I’m very happy with the finished card and think the Pale Papaya is a really gorgeous colour! That’s it from me today. I look forward to being back with you you. In the meantime, please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
