Hello, Crafters.
Today’s video shows how to make a fabulous but simple fancy fold card called a Triangle Joy Fold Card. I found it on Pinterest and it was created by Celine aka lalalandcrafts.blogspot.com. I have followed Celine’s design but if you don’t want to decorate all the sides of both cards, you really don’t have to. For example, the inside of the front triangle could be left blank and also the inside flap of the smaller card could be left blank. It’s a matter of choice.
You can also choose which size top layer you want on the triangle part of the card. I went for the 5⅜” size triangle which gives an ⅛” gap all round (as you can see in both my cards). If you prefer to have a wider gap between your middle and top layer, use a 5¼” Designer Series Paper (DSP) top layer triangle. The products I used to create the masculine card are as follows.
The base card and small card are made with Early Espresso Cardstock (CS) and the middle layers are Basic White CS. All the five designs of DSP I have used are from the He’s the Man DSP. Included in the pack of DSP are two sheets of toppers. I don’t like manufactured toppers; I much rather stamp and colour mine own. I feel that toppers are far better suited for cardmaking kits. Do you have an opinion on this?
The sentiment on the front of the card is one of the toppers and I layered it onto a piece of Basic White CS. to create the layer I drew around the topper with a pencil and then marked ⅛” away from the pencil line twice on each of the four sides. Once I had joined the marks, I was able to put the cardstock in my trimmer and cut off along the pencil lines. This produced a very good layer that was equal on all sides!
I chose the two sentiments inside the card from the Heron Habitat Stamp Set and added one of the birds from the set in-between the two sentiments. It needed something extra so I took a scrap of Sahara Sand CS and punched out some small stars using the Starlit Punch. The image was die-cut from a die from the Fabulous Frames Dies but it was too big for my card!
I decided to cut the frame down and adhere the fancy ends to either side of the image – a very pleasing result. Please see the video for a step-by-step explanation of exactly how I did this. As I already had the sentiments set up on my Stamparatus, for my feminine card I removed the bird stamp and replaced it with a butterfly from the Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set.
To finish the masculine card, I painted the individual images on the DSP on the top layer using my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen. When I made the feminine card, I found three co-ordinating designs from the Tea Boutique DSP and chose two more from the 2022 – 2024 In Colour 6″ x 6″ DSP Pack. I really like these two new In Colours i.e. Parakeet Party and Orchid Oasis – they work absolutely brilliantly together.
That’s it from me today. I hope you enjoy the video and hope you have a very blessed Sunday. I look forward t being back with you and in the meantime, take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx

Evening Jan.
Oh my what a stunning card. I just finished watching the video and this is definitely one I am eager to try soon. I wish I had your talent in deciding which colours and DSP go together. I am definitely not talented in that way. Blessings and Hugs to you and Othman.
XXX Mal and Gang.
Hi, Mal. I pray you are making great improvements day by day. I must admit I used to struggle with putting two designs together! It was a leap of faith with the two designs inside the small card which when open shows three designs at the same time! But I’m pleased with the result. Take care and stay safe. Love and hugs to you and the Gang. xxx
