Hello, Crafters.
This is another of my favourite flowers i.e. Wisteria. To see this climbing over the porch of a thatched cottage in the heart of the English countryside is such a beautiful sight! The Stampin’ Up! designer of the Wisteria Wishes Stamp Set has done an amazing job because the stamp of the three flower plumes can also be used the other way up to feature another Olde English country garden flower, the lupin!
Yesterday morning I did a one-to-one class with s friend who has never stamped before. It was such a pleasure to watch as Sue settled into stamping very quickly and effortlessly. Boy, did it bring back wonderful memories of the days I used to run face-to-face classes! I’ve always said that I miss the social aspect of running classes but I also enjoyed the preparation, the anticipation and the whole social interaction! I would love to get them going again! Watch this space!
The Wisteria Wishes Stamp Set has a matching set of dies called Wisteria Dies which are both offered as a bundle which saves 10% on the individual prices. I have cased today’s card from Sharon Armstrong who is a lovely demonstrator from the US. She is currently running a series of videos on various cardmaking techniques. On YouTube she goes by the name TxStampin Sharon Armstrong. Do check her out!
I changed my design slightly by stamping my HAPPY BIRTHDAY directly onto the card front beneath the wisteria flower plumes. The sentiment is from Blossoms in Bloom which (I’ve just noticed) retired last week! I stamped it using Highland Heather. Sharon made her image more central across her card front and then added a sentiment across the leaves and branches. She also embossed her card using the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder. Although stamping the flower plume is a two-step process the set isn’t labelled as such! Not sure why that should be?
To create the branch I stamped the image twice which left a slight gap between the two but it was easily covered by a strategically placed Brass Burnished Butterfly! Don’t you just love those little guys? I used the new Parakeet Party (green) for the branches, Highland Heather for the biggest layer of the flower flume and then the top smaller layer is Gorgeous Grape.
