Hello, Crafters.
The last day of the month is always my busiest day because I have to close off one month and get myself prepared for the new month. One of the jobs I have to do is to send out my monthly global email. More often than not when I’ve seen business presentations about building a successful business, I have listened to the presenter telling the audience how important it is to keep sending out regular and consistent emails. This is a concept I really struggle with because, if a company starts emailing me once a day, I unsubscribe!
Therefore, my global email is a monthly one! Mind you, if Stampin’ Up! launch a new promotion during the month that I didn’t know about when I sent out my monthly email, I will send out a second one. There was one month when I had to send out a third email but that was a one-off. The email I sent out earlier today shared two promotions that will be starting today.
The first promotion to begin today is the Kits Collection BOGO 50% Off. This offer is very unusual in as much as you choose two kits you want to purchase, pop them both in your shopping basket and at check out the system will give the 50% off the most expensive kit. I don’t know if this is the same the world over but here in the UK you always get the least expensive product cheaper!
The second promotion which begins today is the Last Chance Products available from the Spring/Summer Mini Catalogue which will be retiring on 30th June 2022. Not all products will be discounted but those that are can have discounts up to 50%! The products on offer with this promotion will vary between each market and will be based on stock levels and popularity of each product in each region. Please check with your demonstrator to find out what products are available in your area.
The card I’m sharing with you today is my April customer’s Thank You card. Each month I normally find my Stamparatus is my best friend for making these cards but for my April card, I only used it to for the sentiment! The photopolymer Sending Smiles Stamp Set has matching dies called Sending Dies. The flower was so easy to stamp freehand even thou and i was able to work as if on a conveyor belt as I had quite a few to make! The sentiment A NOTE OF THANKS is also from this stamp set. I used Parakeet Party for the stem which has two leaves, the petals and the sentiment are in Sweet Sorbet and the centre of the flower is in Crushed Curry.
My April Thank You gift was a pouch which held two Zeiss Lens Wipes. I try to make my gifts practical but obviously I don’t know if all my customers are like me and wear spectacles. The beauty of these lens wipes is that they are suitable for most types of lens, excluding contact lens but including camera, binocular and microscope lens. The fun aspect of the pouches I made is that I had used a ribbon inside the pouch and when pulled, it pulled the lens up put of the pouch!
I made a video a few years ago showing how this is made – check out video no.123 Chocolate Pull Up Box. To make my gift pouches I used a piece of Hand Penned Designer Series Paper (DSP) which measured 5½” x 4⅝”. On the landscape side I scored at 1¾” and 4¼” and then turned the DSP 90° and scored at 4⅛”. I cut off the ½” wide rectangles on the outside edges and left the centre ½” tab in place.
I added double-side tape on the inside of the narrow panel and on the inside of the ½” tab. I adhered the side panel down first and then the small tab at the base of the pouch. After I punched two slits at the top of the pouch using the Label Me Fancy Punch, I slid a piece of ⅝” wide ribbon through both the slits. Next I used the lens wipes to gently push the ribbon down into the pouch making sure it stayed in place as it went inside the pouch. I tied the ribbon into a bow pulling it as tight as I could. As this bow would be used to pull the lens up out of the pouch – maybe a few times until the novelty wears off 😁 – I didn’t want it coming undone! This is such an easy pouch to make, and is fascinating to people when they see it for the first time!
That’s it from me today. I look forward to be back with you soon and in the meantime, please take care and stay safe. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx

Hello Jan,
I am from Indiana in the USA. This is just a hello and to let you know you are missed. Pray you are feeling better.
Margaret Symonette
Many thanks, Margaret. My test results are still coming back as “inconclusive” which is kind of good news! This afternoon I will receive the results of the PET scan I had Friday week ago. 🙏🏻 xx
